Izuku was transferred to the hospital and rushed into surgery.

Doctors feared his arm would need amputation, the infection had spread into his blood. He was lucky he got in when he did, or he would've died of toxic shock syndrome.

Thanks to quirks, the infection was able to be reversed to a point and was treated accordingly.

While Izuku was in surgery and being treated, other staff were trying to reach his parents.

When they didn't pick up after 7 attempted calls, they called the next closest person they could find. His teacher, who could be considered a temporary-legal guardian in emergencies.

Aizawa was up there within 10 minutes.

He stayed until Izuku woke up, which was a much bigger ordeal than he expected.

Izuku blinked awake. Immediately bright light flooded his vision, but it didn't hurt his head like he expected. It was nice not to have the threat of nausea lingering in the back of his throat.

But then it hit him.

Nothing hurt. And everything in his blurry vision was white. He was at the hospital.

His heart dropped, the quick beating of a heart monitor, his heart monitor, made his ears ring. He took in a sharp breath.

This was bad. This was really really bad. He couldn't be at the hospital. He couldn't pay for this. His parents were gonna be so angry.

He choked out a sob, when had he even started crying? He didn't know.

There was someone trying to get his attention. He looked over and saw Mr. Aizawa, calmly trying to gain his focus.

"Hey kid you're okay. No one is mad at you." Mr. Aizawa comforted. Izuku wondered if he was mumbling.

"I w-wanna leave. I can't p-pay for this." Izuku stuttered out, trying to drag himself out of bed.

Aizawa stopped him, "don't worry about the money, I'll get you help to pay, I'll help you pay even."

"My parents are gonna be s-so m-mad at m-me." He said, desperately trying to regain control of his breathing. He was spiraling.

"They're gonna be so mad." He said, shaking his head as he lost control of his thoughts, his mind wandered to the worst. Worse than death.

He would rather die than go back home. But he made sure not to say that out loud.

"Why will they be mad?" Aizawa asked calmly.

"B-because it d-doesn't matter if I g-get help paying the b-bills." He took a deep breath, trying to rid himself of his stutters, "I still gave them another thing they have to worry about. They're g-gonna start thinking I'm getting h-hurt at school and p-pull m-me out." He said.

"Where are you getting hurt?" Aizawa asked. Izuku didn't have an answer for that yet. He paused. Where was a place he could've gotten a bad burn like this?

"One of my jobs." He lied. Aizawa looked surprised, "you have a job?" He asked, "where do you work?"

"I have 2. Both are at construction sites. One of them is owned by Ururaka's parents actually, they're the ones who called the ambulance." Izuku said.

"How did it happen?" Aizawa asked carefully.

"I fell on some hot welding equipment." He blatantly lied, thinking of the spots where welding was currently being used.

"It was kinda an ordeal. It was high up in scaffolding because we're working on a big building and currently we're in the metal beams stage of construction, and I was helping this guy, he was leaning off the platform a bit to do his work, a big gust of wind comes and I don't even remember how it happened but he slipped and fell off the platform, his equipment got pinned under my shoulder as he grabbed my leg to stay on, I was sliding off the platform, holding on with both my hands over my head, if I would've taken my arm off we would've fallen." He lied. He made the whole thing up, but it was a good story.
