In a little while the bell rang, and the massive crowd slowly walked out of the cafeteria. Stacy was in the washroom at the moment. Kylie waited for the whole crowd to go out, and wanted to be the last person to leave the cafeteria. She saw Liam still watching the birds on a tree in a nest with three other little birds in it; out of the window, not standing up even after the bell rang and while the others left the hall.

In a sudden he looked around and saw no one, so he hurriedly made his way towards the sink to quickly wash his hands. He still didn’t look at Kylie, but Kylie was waiting for him to look at her. They were the two last people to leave the cafeteria. Once he has done washing his hands, he quickly went over to his table and kept the piece of paper; the rocket that came to him, on the table with a pen on top of it so that it won’t fly away. Then he hurriedly walked towards the door and he gave a slow glance at Kylie and smiled. Kylie shyly smiled and looked down at the floor. Then he left. I’m sure that now he knows who sent him the rocket Kylie thought.

She quickly hurried up to the table where Liam sat down, and where he kept the piece of unfolded rocket with a pen on it. She speedily came over to his table and smiled since she knew that he replied. Then she took the paper, keeping the pen aside. It said, Hello. How are you?. Kylie quickly folded it into her jean pocket and took his pen with her. Then she hurried her way to her table to take her side bag and then she went out of the cafeteria with her friend Stacy, who just came out of the washroom.

“Stacy, I need to get to my locker. I’ll hurry back soon; just go to the class okay?” Kylie said as she wanted to put the piece of paper into her locker.

“Oki doo!” Stacy said and rushed to the class.

As she walked alone in the corridor, and took a left turn to get to her locker, she slowly took his pen and closed her eyes, recapping the times when he wrote using the same pen and when he used to turn it round and round while looking out of the window or thinking of something, during class. The same pen when he left on the table when he got punished. Kylie was watching him the whole time.

As she walked imagining about him, she suddenly bumped into someone. She slowly opened her eyes and saw herself on the floor, and someone standing right in front of her. Someone tall with blue jeans and a long sleeved white jumper on. It was Liam. He was giving his hand out for her to get her back up. Kylie, with a big smile, put her small thin palm, and her fingers wrapped his palm with a firm grip as he lifted her up. As she stood, all she did was smile and look into his eyes without blinking. Kylie then realized that she wasn’t speaking to him but was just smiling like a loon. Oh great. How humiliating! Talk to him you little foolish kid, her mind suddenly spoke to her.

Liam pointed at his pen she carried in her palm.

“Oh! This?” Kylie asked as she showed the pen. Liam didn’t say anything but nodded and smiled.  “So, here you go!” Kylie gave him his pen. Kylie smiled and so did Liam.

Kylie couldn’t think of anything to say, “Thanks for the reply. I’m Kylie.” Kylie said as she gave her hand for a handshake. Liam smiled since Kylie smiled and shook her hand. Liam didn’t say anything.

Kylie waited till Liam introduces himself like she did. She stared at his big blue eyes. He stared back and smiled but did not introduce himself. Liam depressingly looked away. He didn’t know what to say. But Kylie thought he was shy.

“I know that you’re Liam. Liam Arno Dewey…in the same classes which I’m also in and…”

“Kylie!”Interrupted Eric; the guy who has a major crush on Kylie. “What on earth do you think you’re doing here with him all alone when you know that you’re already late for the class?” Eric said as he stood in between Kylie and Liam. Eric came closer and closer, so close that he was about to kiss Kylie’s lips.
