Amnesia AU

Yeah I know I haven't finished the royal au- it's in the process of being made rn. Anyway this one was super fun but also super long- I think it's in the 25700+ words at this point. There is a frank discussion of mature matters but no explicit scenes- Nothing triggering but some people are uncomfortable with discussions of sex so here's your warning.
Anyway- this is set two years after the Blood of Olympus and TOA is not cannon in this story. So I made a buncha stuff up along with minor changes to cannon events. Enjoy!

Nico's POV
I opened my eyes. I'm outside. The sky looks red through the trees so it must be getting late. It feels like I was hit over the head... but I can't remember how...

I sit up slowly as to not startle my head injury. Whatever that injury is... why can't I remember? Maybe if I retrace my steps.... I can't even remember what happened today. Or yesterday. Or... anything.

I can't... remember anything.

What the fuck?

"Who are you?" I jump at the sound of another voice. I turn towards it, a handsome blond boy is laying a few feet away. He looks beat up.

"I- I don't know. Who are you?" The other boy looks taken back, like he was expecting a more concrete answer.

"I don't know either. I was hoping you would." The other boy said sheepishly. I started to stand up, it was wobbly though. The boy did the same.

I looked around. We're in some forest near sunset. It looks like there's been some sort of fight, that the other boy and I were both involved in. I look down at myself, my all black clothes are all messed up. Covered in dirt and blood. The other boy walks over to me.

"We must have been hit over the head and are now suffering some sort of temporary amnesia." I said as we got closer. He touched the side of my head, I flinched away from his hand. He looks me in the eye with a reassuring stare. I let him touch my head. I felt a little weird letting a stranger touch my head, but his eyes looked so open and genuine.

"Yeah no kidding, your head is covered in blood." He removes his hand and shows me his hand covered in my blood. I touch the spot, it's warm and sticky. I look back to the other guy, he doesn't look much better.

"You're not doing so great yourself." I point at his bloody nose and black eye. He gently touches his nose with his non bloody hand- which of course just makes both his hands bloody.

"Okay, so is there anything you can remember? At all?" He asks me. I scrunch up my face, trying to remember.
"I think I'm sixteen? But I don't remember ever going to school. I- I think I'm a bit aggressive too. This doesn't look or feel like my first fight." The blond nods and looks like he's contemplating something.
"I think I'm sixteen too. This doesn't feel like my first fight either- but I don't think I'm a fighter." He looks down at himself and I take a moment to look at him as well.

He does look about sixteen. He's wearing cargo shorts, a flannel that's rolled up to the elbows, sandals, and what looks like a scrub shirt. He's a bit odd. Though his oddity does not take away from his beauty. He has dark blue eyes, tan skin, golden curly hair, and freckles everywhere.

"Okay... so what happened here?" The other guy said, looking around at the debris. I only just now noticed a couple of trees knocked over and broken to pieces. There was a rock by where I woke up that had blood all over it.
"I must've been knocked this way and hit my head on this rock."

"I think I was knocked out by a punch." The other said, touching his eye socket. I had the absurd urge to touch the bruise, just to check on him. Did we know each other?

"We should get out of the woods, the sun's almost gone- then it'll be impossible to find our way out." I tell him, he nods and we look around for anything we might've brought. All they found was a back pack with two water bottles, a first aid kit, a sweat shirt, weird looking coins, and normal money. They grabbed it then started looking for a way out.
