Okay this is so cool guys!! When I started writing this book I thought maybe five people would read it, but now there are like 725 reads?!? So in celebration I'm going to be writing a oneshot in the canon world. So they're at camp and it's before the events of trails of Apollo. Also this is super long, but I hope you enjoy anyways. Word count: 5797

Nico's POV
Watching Will stitch up someone was incredibly boring. It's only slightly entertaining when you look at his concentrated face and skilled hands work fast and furiously.
I often watch Will in the infirmary from the waiting room, I can see him working through the windows of his room. Not that I get hurt on purpose or anything.... I just keep getting hurt and I need a medic. He's the best medic at camp so I'm willing to wait for him to finish with other patients. It usually doesn't take long, he's like a freaking magician. A normal doctor would take forever to do stitches on a cut that big, but with Will's healing powers and extensive knowledge he can get it done in under ten minutes.
"Who's next?" Will calls from the door way. He looks down at my face and raises an eyebrow and smirks. "Alright di Angelo, what did you get yourself into now?" He asks as he ushers me into his room. I sit on the doctors bench and raise my shirt enough for him to see the gash I got from sword fighting. Will just sighs and goes to get the stitching supplies out again.
His room has that annoyingly bright doctor light, including the buzzing noise that accompanies the lighting system. The walls were painted a tealish color. I had gotten so used to this room from the summer when I had to stay here for three weeks.
"So what happened?" Will asks as I stubbornly remove my hand from the cut lining my rib. I wince as more blood pours out.
"I was sword fighting and Holly got me right in the side while I was shadow traveling behind her. She expected the move and swiped her sword through the air, hitting me square in the rib." I explained through gritted teeth as he rinsed out the cut.
"Nico you idiot, I told you not to shadow travel anymore." He says angrily as he runs a thread through his fancy needle. I roll my eyes and he glares at me. "Luckily for you, it's not a terribly bad cut, but if you do that again I will have to watch over you to prevent you from doing anything stupid."
I nod and look at the ground. He's told me a million times, but he's being paranoid. I just shadow travelled five feet away, not across an ocean like last time.
"You'll have to take your shirt off," he says after a minute of trying to stop the blood. I look up at him with wide eyes and he looks at me expectantly.
"Um, why?" I ask him slowly as I can see him slowly getting more annoyed. "I can't get to the cut if there's fabric in my way."
I don't want to take my shirt off. I'm the skinniest and palest little shit ever and he doesn't need to see that. Sure I have a little muscle but definitely not as much as him or any other demigod.
I shake my head quickly, though I can feel the cut burning my skin. The rest of my body feels like an ice cube compared to the gash on my chest. Will rolls his eyes and takes my shirt off.
"What? Solace!" I cover up my chest with my arms and he removes them to see the cut better. "Come on di Angelo, grow up. It's just your chest," he tells me as he pushes my chest onto the bench beneath me. "You have to lie down so I can get to the cut clearly and have room to work." His voice is full of determination and it doesn't sound like the normal care-free Will.
I can feel what's going on, but it doesn't hurt. Will must be using his Apollo magic to make me not feel it. His left hand remains on my chest, around the gash, the entire time. As much as I have day dreamed about his hands on my chest, I didn't necessarily mean like this.
A couple minutes later he tells me I can lean back up. I sit up straight on the edge of the cot as Will searches my body for any other damages. He then goes to the cupboard to wrap up the stitches.
"So Nico, the capture the flag game tonight," he started to say to me before I cut him off. "You don't want me to play. Typical, fine I won't." I deadpan as he wraps a bandage around me.
He tightens the band as I say that, making an embarrassing squeak come out of me. I glare at him and he returns the favor, but with a small smile.
"As if, Apollo cabin paired up with the Athena cabin along with Poseidon, Hecate, Hypnos, and Hades. You're on my team tonight." He tells me, cutting the band and taping it down.
I look down at my chest, I can barely feel it there, how is he so good at this? I pull my shirt over my head and stand up from the bench.
"Well, okay then. Thanks I guess? Also for the stitches," I shrugged and prepared to walk out. "You're welcome, and it's no big deal, stitches are so easy." He shrugged it off like it was tying his shoe laces.
"Hah, maybe next time I'll give you something harder to work on, maybe a broken rib?" I teased him as he turned to the cabinet to put his things away. He turned back at me with wide eyes and obviously trying to hide an amused look. "Don't you dare di Angelo!" He pointed at me with his index finger and tried to hold in a smile. Definitely failing.
I started laughing at him and he rolled his eyes. He then took off his doctor's coat and threw away the rubber gloves. I raised an eyebrow at him. "What are you doing?" I question suspiciously. "I'm out for the day. Besides, dinners in like ten minutes, I gotta head back to my cabin," he told me.
"Oh," is all I said in return. We walked out of the infirmary and noticed that the everyone was out of the building. Will checked his watch and his eyes grew big. "Oh my gods we're late! I didn't realize how long that had taken, come on!" Will took my hand and started running towards the dinning pavilion.
At first I could feel my heart jump out of my chest, it was a mix of surprise and intrigue. He was holding my hand. Will Solace, the tall gorgeous blonde was holding my hand. We ran down the grassy slopes towards the pavilion and stopped a couple feet in front of it, he let go of my hand and I could feel my heart beating through my chest. Ughh, feelings.
Will walked into the dinning area and got some food before sitting at the Apollo table. I looked over at him, he isn't looking at me, he never does. I swallow and look at the ground. I slowly make my way over to the line to get some food.
I shove the chicken into the fire and mutter, Take care Dad. He likes chicken most of the time. I turn around to the busy room, my eyes fall on the single table in the corner. The Hades table.
Chiron says that they include everyone, and we're all friends here, but I always feel alone. The only time I feel like I'm part of the group is when I'm with Hazel or Jason. Hazel is still at Camp Jupiter with Frank, Jason is usually with Piper on the rare occasion he's here.
I stumble into the bench, the table shaking and creaking with a screeching noise. No one else can hear over the chattering of fifty hungry half-bloods. Slowly, I pick at the food on my plate. I look up and look around the room for no one in particular.
I see Percy across the room at the Poseidon table, also alone. He and I meet eyes, he's usually so happy and upbeat, I don't see that in his eyes. He looks lonely. Annabeth is on a trip with her family and he's been pretty cool about it. I guess I never realized it was an act.
He smiles a little and waves his hand in a saluting motion before going back to eating. I look down at my own food, then back at Percy. This is stupid. He shouldn't have to feel as shitty as I do all the time. I'm going to go sit next to him.
I stand up to walk over to him, but abruptly the conch shell is blown and everyone quiets down. I sit back down not to look weird. I hear the clip clopping of hooves against cement coming closer. Chiron stands in the middle of the dinning hall and starts talking about capture the flag teams.
I completely zone out as I remember what Will said to me earlier that day. You're on my team tonight
He couldn't have meant it as in, like, being gay right? Nah, he's just messing around. He only seems to do that to me, what an asshole. A beautiful, snarky, smart asshole.
We file into our teams and Malcom, the acting Athena cabin counselor, explained the plan. The Hypnos kids were sitting out for the game, as usual. The Hecate kids and most of the Apollo kids were on defense. Athena's cabin was of course in offense, along with Austin and Will from Apollo. Percy and I, being the only children of Poseidon and Hades, were both on offense. The flag was hidden up in a tree, our offense was scattered through the woods, most of them in different trees, or for the Hecate kids, just standing around surrounded in mist.
Percy and I grab our swords, he constantly carries around Riptide, and I usually have my Stygian sword with me. Will grabs a bow and arrow, even though he really isn't that good at shooting. Out of the abilities that Apollo kids have, music, healing, light, and archery, he only had light and healing. He was still better at archery then I was, but not as good as his sister Kayla.
The conch shell blows and we all get into position for the game to start. Percy and I run through the woods, trying to be quiet as possible. All I can hear is the crunch of leaves and the bushing of plants against our legs. In the distance there's shouts from the other team.
Percy and I hide behind various things as we search for people from other teams that are possibly guarding the flag. I duck under a bush and he hides behind a tree when we hear foot steps approaching. Percy's eyes widen at me, I peek through the shrubbery to see who's coming. I let out a sigh, and stand up to look at Austin and Will.
"What are you guys doing over here? You two are supposed to be in the west side of the woods, we're on east." I told them as Percy comes out from the tree. Will and Austin look at each other and motion for us to come towards them. Percy and I walk closer to them and Will whispers "We know where the flag is." Both Percy and my head pops up to look at him, Austin nods his head to tell us he's not lying.
"Well where is it?" Percy asks impatiently. Austin motions with his head as if to say follow us. I immediately pick up the pace and follow Will, Austin and Percy are a couple feet behind us. We walk at a normal pace, Will doesn't seem in any rush, it's probably close by.
"How's your rib?" He asks as we turn right and into the glen where the Cloven Council is held. I look up at him and see his blue eyes fixed on my chest. I blush lightly, not enough for him to notice.
"Uh yeah, yeah I can barely feel anything there," I tell him awkwardly. I look forwards at the long grass and rocks. "Good, so now I can kick your ass at practice tomorrow and not feel bad." Will laughs as he stands on one of the rocks. I roll my eyes at him, I forgot we had combat tomorrow.
He puts his hand out to help me up onto the rock, I take it and he lifts me up. We look around the glen as Austin and Percy enter. "So where's the flag?" I ask, dropping his hand as soon as Percy is in sight. Will leans into me and points through the brush. His shoulder is now touching mine and I look straight down his arm to where his finger is pointing.
Through the trees and bushes I see a red flag draped over a bees nest. "Oh you've got to be fucking kidding me," I mutter as Will laughs. We climb down from the rock and start making a plan with Percy and Austin.
"Okay well obviously the nest is empty, otherwise they would've gotten stung while putting it up there." Austin says, I shake my head in agreement. "They have the Hermes kids and the Hephaestus kids, they probably had some sort of contraption that put it up there." Will points out as he looks off into the woods and towards the flag.
We all stand around thinking for a minute before Percy speaks. "Well they obviously have guards dispersed around, so I can fight them off, cause I'm not getting stung by a million angry bees." I laugh a little and some of the tension between all of us lightens up. Percy wasn't so droopy when he had his head in the game.
"Okay Will, you have light powers right?" I asked him, raking my feet through the tall yellowing grass. "Yeah, why?" He asked looking down at me suspiciously. "I was just think that it's a good distraction."
