It was a horrible night, and a horrible sight.
There he was, Shuichi, getting bitten and turning into a zombie. I stood there, frozen in fear.
"Shu-Shuichi...?" I called out quietly to him.
He turned around, and ran towards me. Not looking like he wanted to see me at all.
He was out of his mind, I tackled the ground as he tried to grab me.
"Shuichi! It's me! (Y/N)!" I yelled to him, it didn't seem to work. He couldn't comprehend anything that I was saying.
Tears started to form in my eyes, I didn't think about what I was doing. I tackled him to the floor, hugging him tightly.
As he clawed my back, I held tears back.
Shuichi stopped trying to attack me.
"W-what?" I managed to get out. It seemed like he calmed down after I hugged him. It was...strange. I ran my fingers through his hair.
He looked at me, he looked...delighted. It seemed like he was still in there, in his eyes. Sure, he didn't know what was happening, but it seemed like he was comforted by my touch.
I just closed my eyes, still hugging him. I didn't care anymore. I was glad that he was calmed. I sighed.
"I promise you...I'll find a cure. For you, I'm going to cure you. I...promise."
