Stephen and Athena held their hands together the whole way to the house, he couldn't deny he was still cautious with the others, especially the other guy he just had a bad feeling about him, when Stephen saw the house he was surprised and impressed it was beautiful, he could see that Athena was comfortable around them, well the majority, he could sense that she and the other teenager dint get along very well when they enter he saw a nice living room, the decorations or at least the majority of them were of ice and a lot of plants, and the photos in the table and wall, they were a family, it called his attention one with the two persons that looked like they are mates she was smiling a little, but there was another one with the blonde of earlier both of their smiles were huge and hugging each other.
In less than a second, Rosalie arrived with the others, her golden eyes scanning the room with confusion and growing suspicion. The last time she had seen Athena, her little sister had been left with a massive wolf-so why was there now a tall, tattooed man standing in his place? His scent was unfamiliar, not entirely vampire nor entirely wolf, yet it wasn't unappealing either.
Her confusion quickly turned to alarm when she noticed Athena's hand resting comfortably in his. Rosalie's body tensed, her instincts screaming at her to separate them. She was about to rush forward when Edward, catching her thoughts, moved instantly to block her path, gripping her arm before she could do something reckless.
-Rosalie, wait- Edward said firmly, his voice low but urgent.
Athena noticed her sister's reaction and immediately stood up, taking Rosalie's hand in hers before she could act on her anger. Without hesitation, she sped with Rosalie to where Emmett was still in transition, hoping to calm her before she did something she would regret.
Stephen watched as Athena disappeared with her sister, a strange discomfort settling in his chest. He didn't like the sudden distance between them. His instincts demanded he stay close and protect her, but he forced himself to stay put. His golden gaze flicked toward the remaining vampires, sensing their silent judgment and scrutiny. If they wanted to talk, he would listen-but he wasn't going to let his guard down.
A tall, refined-looking man stepped forward, exuding an air of wisdom and patience. His expression was calm and non-threatening.
-My name is Carlisle- the man introduced himself with a polite nod- This is my wife, Esme, and this is Edward. The young woman with blonde hair is Rosalie -His voice was steady, but there was an unspoken warning in his tone- We are a family a vegetarian coven.
Stephen's jaw tightened slightly. He wasn't naive; he could feel the tension in the room. They were evaluating him, trying to decide if he was a threat. He wasn't offended-he would have done the same.
