This part is a different AU where Wylie is a pirate and Linh is a Mermaid. I know it sounds weird but please give it a chance. There will be a part two for this because it was so long and I couldn't fit it all into one part. I will try to pot that this week. If you have any requests for what ship I should do next or any constructive criticism then please let me know. I hope you enjoy this part I had a lot of fun writing it and it's 1370+ words!

Wylie loved the sea. The crisp winds, the hypnotic crystal blue water, the sound of screeching sea chickens, and the smell of fish. Ok, maybe not that last one. But it made it feel like home.

Wylie was currently having a very uneventful day, standing on the railing net that was draped across his great, big, old ship softly swaying in the wind. He stood in one of the holes on it only using one hand to keep his balance as the other was used to hold up the spyglass that was pressed firmly to his eye so he could scout out the large ocean.

The only problem was that he couldn't see anything other than water! Not even a single island could be seen. He hated to admit it but he was unfortunately lost. He had never been in this area of the ocean before. And he thought that he'd seen it all.

Just as Wylie was about to give up he spotted something. He quickly raised the spyglass up to his eye but the thing was gone. He had no idea what he saw. It looked like a shimmery, blue, big fishtail. But as soon as he saw it, it was gone. Was it just the universe taunting him.

"Cap'in, the sun is setting soon, shouldn't we find the nearest tavern to stay at?" An English accent called. His name was Tig and he was the cabin boy. He is the newest of the crew. He'd only been there for a week and he's managed to set the deck on fire, nearly fall overboard, burn the food and so much more chaos. Wylie had thought about feeding him to the sharks a few times but he comes from a wealthy family and Wylie can use that to his advantage. And it would be cruel to the sharks.

Wylie rolled his eyes and then called back, "We've gone too far out. By the time it gets dark there's no way that we'll find anywhere to sleep and we might crash if we can't see where we're going. We'll have to sleep here." Multiple groans could be heard from the ship but no one argued. They knew that if they did they would be thrown overboard. And sleeping on a ship is better than sleeping with the sharks.

His men started to put the cargo away and bring down the sails. When they were done they all went to their cabins.

Wylie tossed and turned all night. Many thought that being a pirate was easy, and at times it was. Wylie was a brilliant fighter and he could drive the ship without a problem. But the nightmares were unbearable.

Wylie wore a seashell necklace. Many often asked why or where he'd gotten it from but he's always found ways to avoid an answer. He had been a pirate since the day he could walk. Pirates raised him. He had never met his father but he had often had dreams of his mother. Especially her death. She gave him the necklace when he was younger and when he held it up to his ear, instead of hearing calming waves of the ocean he heard his mother's voice singing a soft melody. It often helped him sleep on nights like this. He tried and tried to hear the melody but it was impossible over Tig's snoring. He was a floor below him and he could still hear him. He felt bad for the other crew members who had to share a cabin with him.

Wylie decided to get some air and cool off a bit. He walked out onto the deck looking out on the ocean. It was beautiful how it reflected every star in the sky and made it look like shimmering fairy dust. Just as he was looking out onto the sea he heard a soft hum. It was like if the ocean could sing, this would be its voice.

He looked around for the source of the voice when his eyes finally landed on a beautiful lady with jet black hair with silver tips, pink rosy cheeks, and silver-blue eyes floating around peacefully in the water. He wasn't able to see her legs because they were under the water.

Wylie was shocked. The girl could drown! Or maybe become fish food! She must have known how dangerous that was. How did she even get here? Wylie couldn't see any boats or ships in the distance, and there was no way that she swam this far out.

The girl spotted Wylie and immediately stopped singing. She gasped and ducked under the water before Wylie could tell her that he meant no harm. When she didn't resurface for air, Wylie got worried and before he could think, he dove into the water in a desperate attempt to save this lady.

Wylie was now in the water. His captain's hat had floated off his head and to the surface of the water as he kicked and thrashed in the water. He never learned how to swim because as silly as it sounds he was always scared of the water. It brought back too many bad memories of the day he had lost his mother.

Wiley's mom had pretended to be a man while she was aboard the ship. If the past captain had found out that a woman was working on his ship he would have thrown her overboard. When the captain did find out it was right after his mom had found out that she was pregnant with him. The captain only let her stay on the ship until she had the baby. If it were a girl she would be thrown overboard with his mom, a boy and he would grow up as a replacement for his mom on the ship.

Wylie was fourteen when he found out he could fight and fifteen when he finally challenged the captain to a duel. If he won he would take his place as captain. If he lost he would experience the same fate as his mother. It was a nasty duel. Wylie only won because his captain was as dumb as a potato.

When he came out of the fight as the new captain he threw the former captain and everyone who still supported him off the ship. everyone but one crew member was thrown overboard. Luke, his best friend stayed by his side to this day. And now he has a crew of five people, Himself, Luke, Ezra who is the only woman on the ship and everyone knows to treat her with respect, Tig, and Edric who is the best fighter on the ship other than Wylie.

Back to the present

Wylie could hear his mother's screams in his mind but he ignored the flashbacks as he looked around for the beautiful lady. He frantically spun his head around in all directions in the search for her until something caught his eye. A dark, shimmery, blue tail that was as long as human legs. Wylie looked up to see the rest of the fish but to his shock and horror, his eyes landed on the same girl as before.

He had heard tales of mermaids but he never thought that he would meet one! Wylie had to get back to the surface. He had been holding his breath for way too long. Just as he had almost reached the surface he felt dizzy and his lungs burned for air. And then all he saw was darkness, as it consumed him and he blacked out.
