It's currently my time of the month and I've been having the worst cramps ever that's what inspired me to write this. Warning in advance, it does get personal about periods so if you're uncomfortable with that then this part isn't meant for you. If there's a certain ship that you want me to write about next time or any helpful criticism than please tell me.

Periods are always a girl's worst nightmare. Especially when they come in the middle of class when you least expect it.

Linh's stomach has been hurting so much all morning, that she couldn't even eat breakfast. All she ate were just a few nibbles of food. Tam insisted that she eat  more but she knew that it would come up instead of going down so she refused and rushed off to school.

She didn't know if she'd be able to make it through the whole day but she wanted to prove to her brother that she was truly fine and that the pain would surpass. The only problem was that the excruciating feeling in her stomach only increased.

So there she was in the middle of her Elvin history class doubling over praying for the pain to stop. A few beads of sweat dripped down from her forehead but were quickly moved away from Linh, using her ability as a hydrokinetic. A few of her peers were giving her very concerned looks, but Linh looked up and gave them a nod as if to say, 'nothing to see here, I'm fine.'

Linh finally decided to get up and go to the bathroom hoping that that would help. When she stood  a wave of dizziness washed over her making her nearly tumble into her neighbors desk.

She muttered an apology as her face heated up from embarrassment. Now all the eyes in the class were on her. Well, all the eyes except for the few people in the back who were too busy sleeping to even know what happened. A few people were snickering and pointing at her back, which led to a blush creeping up to the tips of her ears.

She looked around at all the eyes that were on her and eventually landed on a familiar blond girl with ice blue eyes. Linh didn't like to be embarrassed. No one did. Especially in front of really confident and pretty girls such as Marella. Linh looked to the floor and wrapped her arms around her middle.

The embarrassment almost made her forget about the pain that she was in. Almost. As another bolt of pain hit her she nearly fell over before running out of the classroom and down the corridor to the girls' lavatory.

She slammed the door open and rushed into one of the stalls, locking the door behind her. Tears burned in her eyes but she refused to let them run down her face. She sat on the seat as she covered her mouth to hold back a sob. Why was she being so emotional about this?

She heard the door swing open, followed by the sound of feet shuffling in. Linh put her feet up so no one would see them if they looked under the stall.

"Linh?" An angelic and high voice asked, which made Linh's heart flutter in her chest.

"Are you ok? I saw you rush out and thought I'd see if you needed a pad," The voice said again.

It was Marella's voice. Linh would recognize it from anywhere.

A pad? Why would she need that? Her period ended two days ago. It's impossible for it to start again that soon. Unless... Linh quickly pulled down her pants as quietly as possible to check. To her horror she saw her underwear was stained red with blood. She was so surprised that she might have even let out a small squeak.

Linh started to connect the dots. That must have been why her stomach hurt all morning, why she was so emotional in the stall and why she felt dizzy as she was getting up. Wait- how had Marella known that she had her period? Linh curled her legs into her chest so that she could see the back of her pants. She had bled through them and now there was a very noticeable red stain.

When everyone was laughing at her in class they weren't laughing because she stumbled. They were laughing because they saw! Linh felt tears return to her eyes as she pulled her pants back up and slowly opened the door. Marella had been silent for a while so when she peeked out to see if she had gone back to class, she was surprised to see her sitting cross legged on the sink with two pads, a long cloak that would definitely go past her knees, and a few snacks sitting in her lap.

"I guess we're skipping then," Marella said with a smirk on her face.

"Where did you get the chocolate from?" Linh asked in a hushed voice, trying to use her hair to block her flushed face. Most of her tears had retreated after opening the door to see Marella sitting there.

"I hide it in my desk to keep me awake during the boring classes," She admitted. "Come back out when this is on and help me finish this chocolate," Marella commanded, handing her one of the pads.

When Linh was done both her and Marella sat on the floor of the bathroom talking about nothing and everything. It felt nice, peaceful even. It helped Linh take her mind off a lot of things. It reminded her that she had a friend whenever she needed one. But Marella wasn't just her friend, she was the person that Linh would do anything to be with. Because deep, deep, deep down no matter how hard she tried to push those feelings aside Linh knew that she was in love with Marella.
