This is part 2 of Lost at Sea, Wylinh. I won't be able to post another part for a few weeks because I'm going to Europe to visit my mom. If you have any constructive criticism or a ship request that you want me to write next then please tell me. I hope you enjoy it.

Linh's POV

Humans fascinated Linh. She was one until her parents tried to drown her and her brother in the ocean when they were babies. Luckily a merman found them in time to save them and turn them into sea folk.

She used to live in a small town where multiple births were ridiculed and scorned. Her parents saw it as a waste. More money and more time.

She was the chore, the job that they didn't want to do. And the thought of feeling like she wasn't enough devastated her. But she's grateful that she had her brother by her side for all of it. He made her feel like she was loved.

But siblings fight. And Tam didn't see how humans could be any good. He had caught her sneaking away several times to observe humans and their weird lifestyles.

She had finally snuck away from Tam when she found a ship. She decided to watch it from afar so she wouldn't get caught. Linh had never seen a ship this close to their capital city, Eternalia.

Just as she was inching closer to get a better look, she felt a hand grab her wrist. She turned around with a panicked look on her face.

Had she been caught? Tam would kill her if he found out.

But to her relief, when she turned her eyes landed on a very familiar blond friend.

"Linh! We can't be this close to humans. We might get caught," Sophie hissed. Her pastel pink tail was looking extra sparkly today. Before Linh could argue or find an excuse she was dragged away by Sophie with her vice-like grip. Linh gave her dark purple tail one more splash before following.

Linh was dragged back to the Ruewen's lovely aquatic animal pastures. She said hello to a friendly sea horse named Silveny with white sparkly scales.

She made plans with Sophie the day before to hang out with her and she felt like a really bad friend because she had forgotten about it.

They made their way up to Sophie's room after greeting Grady and Edaline. When they reached her room a blond boy with messy hair and an ice blue tail was lying on her bed staring at the ceiling.

"It's about time you two got here. I've been waiting forever," He dragged out the last word like a young child would when they were bored. "Nice to see you too, Keefe," Linh replied. Keefe and Sophie had been dating for just over a month now but Linh knew that they both liked each other loonnngggg before that. And Linh loved to tease Sophie for it.

"Where's bangs boy?" He asked. "Out with his girlfriend. Why? Do you miss him?" Linh replied with a teasing look in her eyes. "Of course not! I just feel bad for Biana having to put up with his attitude," Another new couple was Biana and Linh's brother. She was overjoyed when she found out about their relationship.

The rest of the evening was followed like that. Keefe, Linh, and Sophie all teased each other and made jokes. After dinner, Linh and Keefe swam home. But before returning home Linh decided to take a bit of a detour.

She went back to the ship hoping that it was still there. It was late so no one would be walking the deck. Right? Linh got very close, peeking through a few windows to watch the sleeping pirates. One was snoring so loud that she was surprised that he hadn't woken the entire ocean. Linh was floating around humming a song that her adoptive mother would sing to her whenever she had nightmares.

Linh stopped abruptly. She felt eyes on her. She looked up to the ship and saw a pirate with mahogany skin and bright blue eyes staring right at her with his mouth hanging open.

She gasped and ducked under the water squeezing her eyes tight. If she couldn't see him then he couldn't see her. Right! That's how it worked. Just don't open your eyes and it will be fine. It will be fine. It will be fine.

She repeated the prayer over and over in her head until she decided to peek. She slowly opened one eye and just as she did The man jumped in.

I looked!

Linh mentally yelled at herself. The man looked around until he finally saw her and her tail. Then he started swimming up again, but he didn't move up that much. Did he even know how to swim? Then his eyes fluttered close and he started to sink deeper and deeper.

Linh acted without thinking and grabbed him and then started swimming as fast as she could towards the shore. It was a long trip. If anyone else were trying to save him he would have already drowned. But Linh was fast.

Linh was traveling 300km per hour give or take. When she finally reached the shore she dragged the strange man and herself- which was incredibly hard because half her body was a fish- onto the sand. Linh slapped him a few times and even started giving him chest compressions. But nothing worked. She finally went for the last resort, mouth to mouth.

She took a deep breath, plugged his nose, and then locked their lips together. The man sat up quickly and turned to his side coughing frantically.

After his coughing fit, he turned toward her.

"You saved me." He said. His voice horse after almost drowning.

"Of course I did. I couldn't let you die."

"But I'm a human. Humans have hunted fish for centuries."

Linh had an offended look on her face. Fish? Seriously? She had just saved this thing from dying and he calls her a fish!

"I'm way past my curfew and I need to get home," Linh said trying to end the conversation as quickly as possible. She wasn't even supposed to be talking to him.

"Wait," He stopped her. "How will I get back to my ship?"

Linh dragged out a long sigh. "Fine, If you carry me into the water then I'll swim you back to your ship. Deal?" She asked, putting her hand out for him to shake it.

"Deal," He said as he let out a relieved breath as gave her hand a shake.

He scooped her up bridal style. His arm holding her back and the other scooped under her tail as he walked them towards the water.

Wylie POV

Linh was an incredibly fast swimmer. It took everything in him not to scream when she first took off.

When they got back to the ship Wylie had to ask if he'd ever see her again. She looked surprised by the question. But when she looked behind her as if to see if anyone was listening and then back at him her answer wanted to make him leap with joy.

"I come to this spot every day. If you want to see me then just come here."

Wylie saw her at least once a week. He could relate to her in so many ways and talk to her about anything. When the sun was setting one night, she planted a quick kiss on his lips before swimming away back home.

That was when Wylie realized that he was falling head over heels for this woman.
