FELIX'S POV

Felix sighed as he stared at the white door with gold designs on it. He knew better than this, didn't he? His mom had taught him better. Felix sighed for the hundredth time that day. He just had to do what his mom asked of him, but how could he, of all people in Paris, convince Gabriel Agreste to let him live with him, to take him into his home? He had no faith. Not that he wanted to move in with Gabriel and his son Adrien - not at all - but his mom wanted him to.

As they would be moving to Paris in a month or two, his mom had wanted him to start school early. So, here he was, about to ask Gabriel to let him move into the Agreste Mansion temporarily, if he ever got the courage. His mom had said, "You have nothing to fear, darling. Gabriel is your uncle; he's sure to take you in for the time being." But would he? Would Gabriel Agreste take in the guy who stole his ring, the son of his annoying sister-in-law? Probably not, but here he was.

Felix took a deep breath, knowing he'd need it, and knocked on Gabriel Agreste's office door. After a long wait, he finally heard Gabriel's cold, emotionless voice telling him to come in. Felix stared at the man in front of him, sitting in his chair, his focus on his computer. Felix felt himself shake with fear, but not enough. "How may I help you, Felix? I don't have time for nonsense," Gabriel said, his voice firm.

Felix stared at Gabriel in shock, wondering how cold this guy was. Ignoring his anxiety, Felix jumped straight to the point. "May I... live with you?" he asked, cursing himself for stuttering. He sighed inwardly, relieved that he had finally spoken.

"What do you mean?" Gabriel questioned, his eyes still on his computer. Felix sighed again. "Can I move in with you and Adrien here?" Gabriel looked up from his computer, a tiny hint of a cold, fake smile on his face. "Why?" he questioned, interest sparking in his greyish-blue eyes.

Felix explained, "My mom has decided we should move here to Paris, so she thought it would be a good idea if I started school early. And because of Adrien, after my aunt's disappearance, he needs as much family as possible. I just miss him nowadays as well." Gabriel fired back, "Why should I trust you, Felix!"

Felix replied in a pleading manner, "I know, uncle, but I want to be a better person. Who else but Adrien can teach me?" Gabriel stayed silent for a while, staring at Felix. "I still don't trust you, but fine. I will speak to your mother." Gabriel grunted.

"Thank you, Uncle," Felix mumbled gratefully. "You know your way out," Gabriel dismissed him, turning back to his computer. "Close the door on your way out," he commanded coldly. Felix walked out silently, yet grateful.
