Felix Pov
Words:580

Felix paced back and forth in his bedroom, his mind racing. He had done the impossible - set up high-tech cameras in Gabriel Agreste's office to spy on his uncle and determine if he was Hawk Moth. So far, he hadn't uncovered much, except that his uncle was in a relationship with his assistant, which wasn't surprising. Felix wondered if Gabriel was even Hawk Moth. Doubt had crept into his mind, which he hated.

At least there was one person keeping him sane - Marinette Dupain-Cheng, the raven-haired girl who had stolen his heart. It infuriated him that Adrien was his only obstacle to winning her over. Felix had realized he loved her, which shocked him. But he had to forget her and focus on his mission.

His mother, Amelie Graham de Vanily, had sent him to infiltrate the Agreste mansion and gather information about his aunt's disappearance. However, the mission was going south, and no information had been found. His mother was disappointed, and Felix knew he'd face her wrath.

Speaking of which, his phone rang, displaying his mother's name. "Felix Graham de Vanily," Amelie's voice rang through the line, her once-kind tone now upset.

"Mother," Felix acknowledged, wondering how she looked at that moment. He hated speaking to her on the phone when she was upset, as it was easier to gauge her emotions in person.

"You're getting distracted," she stated. "I've heard."

Felix mumbled, unsure what he'd done wrong. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Amelie's calmness melted away. "Don't lie to me. Your father would hate it if he knew."

Felix apologized, knowing it was better to avoid unnecessary arguments. "I'm sorry."

"Are you trying to get the girl Adrien likes?" Amelie asked, her tone clipped with anger.

Felix wondered how she knew. "What makes you think that, Mother?"

Amelie scolded, "Felix, leave the girl to Adrien and focus on your mission. If not, you'll come back home. Do you understand?"

Felix hesitated, his mind racing. Could he leave Marinette to Adrien? He liked her too much - she was nice, caring, sweet, and understanding.

"No," Felix said aloud, before realizing his mistake.

Amelie's voice turned icy. "What's that supposed to mean?"

Felix stood his ground, feeling a surge of determination. "I'm not letting her go because your lovely nephew wants her."

Silence followed, and for a moment, Felix wondered if the line had gone dead. Then Amelie sighed. "Felix, your cousin lost his mother and has a father who pays him no attention. Adrien isn't loved - that's the point of this mission, to get him away from his father. If he's in love with the girl, let him be."

Felix sensed his mother's exhaustion. "Mom, I like her. Doesn't that mean anything to you?"

Amelie paused before responding, "You are off the mission."

The line went dead, leaving Felix stunned. He stared at his phone, contemplating his next move. He had made a decision. Pressing on Marinette's number, he typed a message and sent it. After five agonizing minutes, he received a reply. Felix would be going on a date with the girl he liked, no matter what obstacles came his way.
