Twisting in slight pain, I kept my eyes squeezed shut, as I felt the figure that was once beside me, no longer there, holding my hand. I should have known that I was just dreaming about this entire new family. There was no way that it could of happened to someone, that had been in my position for so long.
But, I could hear murmured voices, so I slowly cracked my eyes open, before I was then looking, directly to the man that had been ushered out of my room. I didn't have a chance to look away or stop the slight shaking in my hands, as he took a step closer, stopping the conversation with the man that had ushered him out when he had first walked in.
"Hey, princpesa. How are you feeling?" I just slowly nodded my head to his question, already wanting to just fall back asleep, right beside Rafael, but I knew that it was too good to be true to fall asleep with him next to me, and then ask for him to wake up beside me. He had said that we could nap like old times, but our old times, were back when I was younger than the age of 8, and I had grown since then. I had changed.
"I wanted to have a chat with you, before your doctor comes in here" he continued to speak, his voice trying to be soft, and I was giving him credit for that. He wasn't making any moves towards me, and neither was the other man, that I knew was called Emiliano. I was a little nervous around these two, as I was more familiar with Raf, obviously, and sort of Alejandro.
So, as I sat up slightly, prepared for this chat, I winced, biting down on my lip as I continued to adjust myself, and watching as Emiliano's face contorted into what looked like worry, but he didn't dare step any closer to me. I was grateful, but I wanted help, deep down, and I didn't know how to ask for it, especially from people that I had just met.
I nodded my head, to my new father, as he then started to say what he had to say. "I sent some of the people that I work with, to gather some of your belongings, as we reside in Spain, so I thought you might have some things that you want to take, but when we reached the house you grew up in, your bedroom door was locked, before it was broken down, and later found to have been discarded of anything. We could not find a single thing that you or your brothers owned in that house"
Shock, and a little bit of fear, hit me like a train. Even though I didn't have much, there was some sentimental pieces that I knew I had, and I was sure that Ben and Liam held more of their own pieces of personal items, and we had just been wiped from that family, like we never existed. They had done the same to Rafael, so I should have known that it was coming my way.
"But, the good news is, that you will be able to head home with us today, along with Ben, Liam and Nicolas. You can start a new life" he was quick to back up what he had said, as he had taken a seat near the chair that Rafael had once been sitting in, and I just nodded my head, before it dawned on me, that I would no longer be living in the states anymore. The place that I had called home, was being taken away from me, in a matter of seconds.
