There was a man who no one saw
He sat in silent pain
He watched the other people love
He watched the friendly rain
He never asked for anything much
Always kept to himself
Pictures of a shining girl
Sat neatly on his shelf
And everyday so far away
She'd think herself a queen
And look upon those lonely eyes
But know not what they mean
And then on a warm summers day
The man did cross the street
He hoped he wouldn't make it
But he tripped on dragging feet
He found that he was on the ground
Alone and quite ashamed
The girl saw him and with a grin
She asked him for his name
It was as if a ton of bricks
Had fell upon his chest
He was so shocked this bright eyed girl
Had chose him from the rest
And kindly she did help him up
With soft uncallused hands
All he could do is stare in awe
At her shining orange strands
He took in every inch of her
Pale skin and thin pink lips
Tall and lean and full of life
Small waist and gentle hips
She took in every inch of him
Worn thin and broken smile
Eyes that played a sorry song
And legs that stretched for miles
And after he had grabbed her hand
They never did let go
Cause looking in each other's eyes
They swore that time had slowed
It's funny cause she was the sun
And he the glowing moon
The center of the universe
The guy who left too soon
They fit like pretty puzzle pieces
The morning and the night
Always chasing after the other
Never out of sight
Together they went up in a tower
To watch the frozen stars
Beneath them was a world of worry
Angry people in their cars
He turned to her and softly said
I think that without you
I couldn't possibly survive
My life was far too blue
She turned to him and down her cheek
There rolled a single tear
Then she said in her bravest voice
When I met you my dear
You were sitting in the street
And I thought to myself
For that man I would give my life
I can love no one else
But then just like when they first met
He tripped upon his feet
Except that unlike last time the lovers
Hands would never meet
He fell over the little edge
Upon his lips her name
He wondered why death came so late
The timing was a shame
And as he plummeted from the roof
He heard her broken scream
But then he woke up by himself
Amelia was a dream
