Wind blows past Izuku's face. His feet hit the ground hard and sweat droplets form pools on his eyebrows. The now 12 year old sprints down the beach, barely ahead of Toshinori. The two Yagi's reach the end of the beach just as the sun starts to rise. Summer is nearly over and Izuku's training is paying off.
Izuku has a body that's more similar to his mother's, but he definitely has his fathers mindset. Not even terrible rainy weather could stop Izuku from training. He's working harder than Toshinori ever expected, he certainly knows how to make his father proud.
"Nice warm up, let's run back to the house then we'll do a few exercises." Toshinori wipes the sweat off his forehead.
"M'kay!" Izuku nods before running off again.
"Hey- wait for me!" Toshinori yells after him.
The pair make quick time returning to their homes. Emiko greets them with large licks to the face as she jumps around the living room.
"Down Emiko! Down." Izuku laughs as the dog does laps around his legs.
"I must say, I'm very impressed by your speed, young Izuku!" Toshinori hands his son a bottle of water before slouching into the couch.
"You and Torino are great teachers." Izuku smiles.
"There are some weights out in the garage. Grab those for us then I'll guide you through." Toshinori points at the garage door.
"Right." Izuku takes a gulp from his bottle before going out to grab the lifting equipment.
Toshinori has spent all of summer break preparing Izuku to take One for All. The number one hero is working his hardest to make sure that his son can handle the power of the quirk. Weight training, resistance training, speed, and cardio have been the only things Izuku has done for his break. He didn't do them alone, he was occasionally accompanied by Hitoshi or Shoto. Katsuki still won't have anything to do with the boy and refused to be caught dead hanging out with Deku over summer.
Of course Izuku isn't the only one who's been working hard. Tenko spent his own summer training even more until his first day of UA. He's in class 1-B with new teacher Vlad King. While Tenko lacks friends he makes up for it with his unrivaled strength. He's top of his class as far as physical traits go. Not one day goes by when Tenko isn't surpassing himself on the training fields. Shouta occasionally pays Tenko visits but they're both pretty busy with the upcoming sports festival.
Both of the Yagi sons are achieving new and great feats everyday. Soon Tenko will be a hero and Izuku will have his quirk. But first they must overcome the obstacles of life. Izuku's obstacle is Gran Torino, who doesn't take this training lightly, even if he likes to spoil Izuku.
"You really shouldn't lift like that, you'll hurt yourself like a total fool!" Gran huffs as he walks down the stairs.
"Do you just break in whenever you feel like criticizing?" Toshinori hisses.
"I enter this house when I want to make sure you don't get my grandson killed! It's clear you two need the help. With summer coming to an end, Izuku will need to start training with the quirk." Gran effortlessly lifts the weights better than either of the Yagi's. Toshinori would call him a show off if he didn't want to get the old man's cane shoved into his knee.
"Don't you think it's too soon for that?" Toshinori whispers.
"Not in the slightest." Gran shakes his head and floats over to Izuku.
"What do you think, Izuku?" Gran asks.
"Well... I think I'm ready, we've been training this whole time. But only if dad believes in me." Izuku hums.
