Toshinori Yagi's breathing stiffens. His eyes focus on his target, and despite the pain that he's in, he moves forward carefully.

"Dad, are you still trying to put on that new scar cream that Recovery Girl gave you?" Tenko shouts through the bathroom door.

"I just need a second!" Toshinori blushes, and lets out a relieved sigh when he hears Tenko walk away.

To some, the task of putting on soothing lotion is trivial and nothing to even think about while doing. However, to Toshinori, it's harder than fighting the most fearsome of villains.

Recovery Girl noticed that Toshinori's scar was healing weirdly so she suggested a fine cream to put over it to help revive any dead skin. The only thing is, it stings like crazy when administered!

In Toshinori's words, "It's like a bunch of ants biting you over and over again in the same spot!"

Yet after a few moments of worrying and putting it off, Toshinori finally spreads the painful lotion over his scar. He's able to let out a sigh once the pain is over and then he exits the bathroom.

'I really am getting old aren't I? My back is killing me!' Toshinori's mind melts as he slumps onto the couch and turns on the evening news.

Despite the fact that Toshinori hates the news, because it tell one sided stories and has a tendency to make him sad, he watches intently as images of a crime scene flash across the screen.

"Tonight, we remember the victims in this tragic attack. Around 13 dead and another 27 missing. Among the 13 were two heroes, the water hose heroes. Muscular escaped but is known to be greatly injured, if you see this man then please call-" Toshi tunes out the TV as he loses himself in his thoughts.

'I should have been there. I should've saved them... why am I becoming so useless?'

"Dad? Are you okay?" Izuku frowns.

"Hm? Yeah I- I'm good." Toshinori waves off his concerns.

"Okay... I've just been calling your name for a while." Izuku steps closer to his father.

"Oh, apologies! I hadn't heard you, I was lost in my own mind." Toshinori gives a fake smile.

"I get that! Hey, but I was just wondering if maybe you wanted to do training with me on the beach. You don't have to worry about it being too intense, I promise to go easy." Izuku begs.

"That does sound fun... okay! But you have to be careful, and now quirk training today. We could just do some body work." Toshinori smiles.

"Yeah! Let me grab my bag then we can go!" Izuku hums as he skips up the stairs.

Izuku is an optimist, if you couldn't already tell. The boy tends to find the good in even the worst of situations. Izuku is also very observant. He notices everything around him down to the finest detail. When you mix these two things together, you get somebody who sticks their neck out for other people way too frequently.

And that's what he's doing now.

Izuku noticed his father's bad mood earlier this morning when Toshinori woke up three minutes later than usual. This was followed by a meager breakfast, long amounts of time dwelling on his scar, and then sitting on the couch and watching the news. The second Toshinori turned on the news, Izuku knew something was off. His father hardly watches the news, he prefers to listen to it on the radio.

So Izuku has made a plan that could get his dad back into the swing of things. And it all starts on the beach.

"It's a nice day out! It's a good change from that rain we got last week." Izuku smiles.
