It's been roughly four months since our trip to Greece and I found out through Matteo that it's Ezra's birthday today. I've decided to pretend not to know, just to surprise him later on. I organized a surprise party at his house, while he's busy everyone's going to come in. I invited all the people I met that one night at the party a while ago.

"Ezra!" I shout.

"What?!" He hollers back.

"We forgot to get face masks when we were out!"

I hear him walking over to me and he peeks his head through the bathroom as I brush my hair. His eyes narrow on me through the reflection.

"Face masks?" He repeats, confusion an annoyance both evident on his face.

"Correct." I nod.

"We never planned to get any..." He says, swinging the door back and form as he leans on the doorknob outside.

"Yes we did, I told you. Can you go out and get some?" I plead him with my eyes.

"No." He deadpans.

"Please? I need them!" I whine. He rolls his eyes and sighs.

"Fine." He grumbles. Great way to start his birthday, huh?

"How many?" He asks.

"Four."

"I'll be back in fifteen minutes."

"And if you're not?"

"File me as a missing person." He says.

"Noted." I nod.

"Cool. See ya."

"Bye. Thank youuuu." I draw out as he walks away. I hear the jingle of the keys and the front door shuts. I immediately grab my phone and dial Matteo's number.

"He just left." I say as soon as he picks up.

"Okay. I see him coming out right now. He's getting in his car...he dropped the keys...he's being a big baby about it...getting in the car...and he's gone." He says through the phone.

"Cool. Come up, then. He should be back in fifteen."

"Copy that. Out and over." He says and the line goes dead. I laugh at his playfulness, tying my hair back.

I hear their five booming voices in the stairwell and soon enough trap knocks on the door ring out. I make my way over and rush them inside, shutting the door behind them. They all hold gifts and Ivy and Dolores are giggling something between themselves.

"So now we wait for him to show up..." I sigh, raking my hands down my thighs.

Three knocks on the door have me jumping up from the couch and opening the door for Ezra. He stands there, an unamused look on his face as he holds four face masks.

"They only had avocado and strawberry so I got two of each." He says, handing them to me.

"Why thank you. I'm happy now." I step aside and he walks in. I turn around, waiting for the big surprise but nothing happens. I clear my throat once. Twice. Three times. And that's when everyone jumps out. Ezra flinches and takes a step back, seeming confused.

"Happy birthday!" We all shout. Realization dawns on his face and he smiles softly.

"You guys did this for me?" He says, looking amongst the group.

"Of course." I smile.

"Obviously, bozo." Dolores says, punching his shoulder playfully. I walk over to the couch and grab my gift. I hand it to him and his eyebrows raise.
