I knew this house wasn't very spacious but I did not expect to be given a room no bigger than a cupboard.
Mrs Benson left my belongings in my room then left.
She said she was going to make herself a cup of tea and quoting her words "and a nice biscuit."
My bed was already made, plain with green and blue faded stripes.
I was a little pleased this whole new world wasn't completely grey.
I decided to turn on my phone.
I watched the screen light up and waited in anticipation wanting to find out why it had been taken away in the first place.
I found out pretty quickly.
All my contacts had been removed, i guess for safety.
The thing that surprised me the most was that my phone number had changed.
"How's that even possible" I muttered to myself.
I was certain this was the same sim card.
For a teenager I'm pretty dull.
I have no social life whatsoever not even online.
I have no need for social media.
You see, I am in love with music.
I can play piano, guitar and electric guitar but my favourite instrument is the violin.
I only own a guitar and my violin though.
My family were neither poor nor rich and although they had no interest in me I occasionally was given money.
I unpacked my stuff.
The only things I own are clothes and my instruments.
I thought of taking a nap but just as I laid my head on the pillow loud noises echoed from downstairs.
I sighed to distract myself from panicking, the only logical answer is that the other children have come home from school.
I felt pretty stupid.
Anyone else wouldn't be feeling so nervous.
Even so, I just sat on my bed, my leg slightly shaking, pretending i heard nothing.
"Hello!" I jumped out of instinct.
"Oops didn't mean to scare you" a different voice replied.
I looked up and saw two very similar boys and a younger girl standing behind them.
"Hi" I began, trying to be confident.
"I'm Mathew" I stared blankly "and he's Joshua."
The boys I assumed to be twins.
The same jet black hair and both tall and skinny.
The girl was the complete opposite.
"I'm Amelia nice to meet you" she smiled at me genuinely.
So many people have smiled at me today, I'm not sure how to feel about it.
Amelia had curly blonde locks and incredible blue eyes.
She looked so alive.
There was a long silence.
This is going downhill fast I thought.
"We're really grown up," announced one of the twins "Me and Mathew are in year five but she's only in year four."
I smiled at them as if they were babies, amused.
"Dinner time!" called Mrs Benson.
