It was morning, and the sun was shining. The two pups in Marshall's pup house were still asleep.

However, that was due to one reason.

Everest had a rough night, awoken from her sleep due to the nightmare. But when she went to Marshall, and have him sleep with her, it calmed her down and the two got one of the best sleep ever.

Marshall was waking up. But he felt something laying on his paws. He opened his eyes just to see a pup.

He remembered the night as Everest laid beside him, sending him to the dreamland. It was a dream about him and Everest, playing tag. He enjoyed his dream.

He knew they needed to get up, so he tried waking up the husky next to him. He tried to move his paw away, but she snuggled next to him, making him blush. So he tried again, this time, he gave her a kiss on the cheek. This immediately made her wake up, rubbing her eyes.

"Good morning Eve," Marshall said. He saw her smiling, which made him smile too.

"Good morning Marsh." She said, getting up. "And I'm sorry that I slept here." She apologized.

"Eve. You know if you need to, you can." Marshall said, reassuring her. They walked together to the doors of the lookout. Just then, they heard a scream.

"You piece of lazy f**kwit!"

It came from upstairs, and it didn't sound like Ryder. It was much clear when they came inside. There stood already the others, looking up.

"You are lucky that I didn't throw you out when you hurt Marshall!" This sounded like Ryder. It all made sense to the two, Rocky and Ryder were arguing.

"You think so? Picture this. If someone, who is crazy and retarded like him, tries to get together with Katie, wouldn't you do the same?" Everyone in the room gasped. They never said words like this to anyone in their family. Marshall was speechless, with tears in his eyes. He was ready to forgive Rocky if he changes, but he didn't know Rocky saw him like this.

"That's something else! Me and Katie are together for some time, you don't have anyone! Who would want to be with you?" "I don't care! Marshall is near Everest too much, and he deserves to be punished, not me."

Everyone again gasped. Everest turned to Marshall, who was silently crying and covering his ears. She moved to him and embraced him in a hug.

"And? We are all family, why can't he?" "Don't you see that he loves her? And what if they got together? Their pups would be retarded just like him!" They then heard a loud noise and the elevator going to that floor.

Everest was still hugging Marshall, still not believing what she heard. Then, the elevator got down, and in it was Ryder, with a belt in his hand. He saw Marshall as he was in Everest's embrace. He felt sorry for him. Sorry for what he let Rocky do to him. He walked over to him. He tried to pick him up, but he wouldn't let go of Everest.

"Marshall, I'm so so sorry that I let it go. I should have done something immediately when we figured it out. Please, buddy, I'm sorry." He patted Marshall's head.

"I'm not mad at you," Marshall responded. He then lifted up his head and faced Ryder. "I just didn't know that he thought like this about me." He said, letting go of Everest's fur but still standing close to her. She knew if he started crying again, she would be the first one he will go to.

"It hurts me to know what he did to me, and what he was threatening to do to me and," He faced Everest and smiled at her. "to Everest. He was my family and my friend." Marshall finished. But it grew their suspicion, especially in Chase. They knew what Rocky did, but they didn't know about the threats.

"What threats?" Ryder asked before Chase. Marshall sighed and as soon as he wanted to talk, Everest interrupted him.

"He told us to stop hanging out or else he would kill Marshall," Everest said. They gasped at what they heard. "I basically knew he wanted me, and just me. And Marshall was someone that was in the way." She said. Then, they heard the elevator going up. They quickly looked up and saw Chase in it, with an angry face.

"Guess we won't be heawing fwom Wocky anymowe." Zuma giggled which made everyone laugh.

"And Ryder, are you and Katie really together?" Everest asked out of curiosity.

Chase stormed into the room.

"So death threats, huh?" He stated, leaving Rocky with a scarred face on.

"I said it was for her own good," Rocky said, walking towards the german shepherd. But Chase grabbed him by his collar and threw him at the wall.

"You know *cough* if your daughter saw this, she wouldn't be very pleased," Rocky said, getting up. Chase stood there speechless, not knowing how he knew about that. He was really careful and as he knew, he never said it. And he knew Marshall and Everest wouldn't say it either.

"Let me explain it to you. Ryder is so stupid, that everything you say records to your puptag's and I know how to get inside them. I know how much you cherish that little girl. I know how much the two down love each other. I know everything. My only goal is to have Everest, and only her." He finished. Apart from Chase being angry at the start, he was now ready to kill. He got his claws out, which scared Rocky. He gulped as Chase got closer to him.

"If something happens to her, I won't hesitate to kill you." He hit Rocky and left the room. Rocky just smiled.

Chase was walking back to the elevator. He knew that he and Sweetie would do whatever it takes to protect Valerie, but he was scared for Marshall. He was now more vulnerable than ever, and Everest was the same.

It was evening and Marshall went over to Everest, who was laying under the tree. He wanted to ask her to go for a walk again like yesterday. But he was really careful what Chase said.

"Marshall, be really careful about what you say. Something private or like that. When you want, throw away the collar as far as you can." Chase told his best friend.

"I know Chase, he is eavesdropping on us," Marshall responded.

He walked to Everest, as he took down his collar and placed it down, still far away from Everest.

"Hey Eve," he said, as he came to her. She smiled.

"Hi, Marsh. Everything alright?" She asked. He just reached with his paw to her collar and took it. Everest allowed him and he threw it away.

"No, and never will be. He knows somehow everything." Marshall started. Everest sighed.

"He knows what we talked about, what anyone talked about. And that was the reason Chase has gone to him earlier today. He knew about his pup." Marshall said. Everest knew that really well, but that last part did not.

"Oh my. So he really knows everything we talked about?" Everest asked, hoping that the answer would be no. Sadly, Marshall nodded. She talked with Marshall about some really serious stuff that she was insecure about and no one knew them.

"But let's not care about that. Would you like to go for a walk with me?" He asked, changing the topic. Her smile came back. She obviously nodded and got up. They both walked to the town and over to the beach. They were talking about life and not bringing up the current problems they faced. They lay on the sand as the sun was setting down, the orange rays shining on the sea.

"You know, I've always thought why does the sun goes down when I was younger," Marshall said with a giggle, trying to lighten up the mood. Everest giggled too.

"Marshall..." She said as she looked at him. "...I am so grateful for you. You are my everything. You are the only friend that's my real friend." She finished while he pulled her into a hug.

"You know that you are my everything also Eve." He said. He wanted to tell her that he loves her, but something was still holding him to say that. Just then, she poked his nose with hers. They both blushed but giggled at it. They got closer together and laid down, enjoying the sunset.
