My story begins with my late mother

Before she died she told me and I quote- . . .

"Don't you ever fall in love otherwise you'll be stuck just like me . . . Stuck depending on a man who won't provide" she says as I stare at her in wonder 'why did I need to know this at the age of 7 again'

"And so my child I have made three rules for you to follow and if you break them I swear I'll rise back from the dead and haunt you for the rest of your life" she said as she pointed three fingers in the air as I cringed at how weird my mother was being

"Mother you not gonna die!" I shreak out as I was quickly cut off

"Listen up! Firstly no friends-they Distract you from you goals and who knows when they might stab you in the back" she said as I whined out as she had continued

"Secondly no drinks or nights out if you get drunk you won't be able to protect yourself if you're being attacked or protect others who need help" I let out a big sigh before my mother had continued with her last rule

"And lastly NO RELATIONSHIPS understand . . . otherwise you'll end up like me" she said as she pointed to herself and gave a big smirk

"But mother-" I was cut off by my mother as she continued with her little lecture

"Listen I'm only telling you this because I care about you and I want you to succeed in life . . . So follow these rules otherwise you won't see the last of me!" She said as she squeezed my cheeks together

"Okay-Okay just let go of my cheeks" I say in a muffled voice as my mother leans in closer and kisses my forehead

" if you ever do want to get married in the future I'll get you aunt to arrange it okay" she said as she shrugged
