I shakily step off the bus. Marcy is sitting outside school, her face no more than two inches away from her Nintendo's screen. Anne is taking off her bike helmet and running towards Marcy.
"OMG, hey Sash!" Anne yells as she notices me, causing Marcy to finally pull her eyes away from her screen.
I don't know what to say. Anne looks calm, and definitely doesn't look like she kissed her best friend like, 5 times. I 100% look like I kissed my best friend last night. Usually I'm the cool one. What the fuck is happening?
"Anne, uh, hi." I mumble, feeling my face heat up. Marcy stares at me with confusion and then looks back at her screen. Great, now I have nothing to be looking at but Anne.
"So.. Sash." Anne shifts her weight from one foot to the other, suddenly becoming nervous. Before I have to walk away awkwardly, I'm saved by the morning bell ringing. I anxiously place a kiss on Anne's cheek as I run to my first class with Marcy, noticing cheerleaders staring.
"Sasha, are you like, gay or something?" One of the cheerleaders scoffs. I chew on my lip and face the ground.
What do I say?
"No, I just have a girlfriend in a straight way." Doesn't make any sense. But coming out to these cheerleaders is terrifying. So, I do what any smart person would do and start running.
"Were the cheerleaders giving you a hard time?" Anne asks thoughtfully when I sit down in class, placing her hand on my shoulder. I contemplate my answer for a moment before answering with a simple nod and covering my face with my hands.
The teacher walks in, and she's of course totally lame like always. I wish I could run away to, like, a different world. It would be awesome. Maybe Anne, Marcy & I can go on a girls trip for Anne's birthday or something.
Speaking of Anne's birthday, it's tomorrow. I didn't actually get her anything, but I heard we're doing frog dissection tomorrow and I could 100% manipulate my way out of that, which Anne would greatly appreciate.
BRIIIIING!
I hug Anne and run out of class with her. Marcy runs up to us, accidentally smashing her head into the wall once before Anne runs and prevents her from it happening again.
"Ah, thanks Anne. I could've gotten a concussion. I might have one already!" Marcy giggles, before burying herself in her book, and almost falling out the window before Anne catches her.
"Anne, what'd you say we, like, skip the next class?" I suggest, smiling at Anne.
"Oh.. my math grade is pretty bad though.." Anne sighs, and I roll my eyes. She just doesn't get that I'm trying to take her on a date. I'm being a good girlfriend, can't she see that?
"Sorry.. yeah we should." She chews on her cheeks and stares off to the side. I'm so glad she agreed to the date!
"Marcy, do you wanna be the third wheel?" I snicker, getting Marcy's attention. She stares in confusion for a second before realizing what I mean by 'third wheel'.
"Oh, oh my god. You guys are-" She chimes in, freaking out for us. I can hear a sense of jealousy in her voice, but I ignore it and smile at Anne.

"This chicken is so good! It's like, perfect seasoning!" I say as I chew my orange chicken. Marcy and Anne turn to each other and burst into laughter.
"Sash.. when you were getting a drink, we wiped the seasoning off! It's plain! There's not even.." Marcy yells, and is cut off by her own laughter. Anne and Marcy are laughing so hard I'm worried for their lungs. I don't understand what they mean, this chicken is good.
They finally calm down and I take another bite of my chicken, which causes them to laugh even harder.
Once they calm down, we continue chatting about life and everything while I eat my flavorless chicken.
"Wait- we never discussed that you two are dating." Marcy randomly blurts out, fully ready for Anne & I to tell her everything.
"Oh, yeah. Well, we just kinda.. asked each other out. And we kissed and stuff and.. yeah." Anne says, smiling. Marcy looks at us and grins, but I see the corner of her lip turn down a bit. I rustle her hair and the corner fades away.
