I was on the highway in my Maserati, going a good seventy-five miles per hour. The top was off the car and the sun was beaming down on me, the wind flowing through my hair.
I kept one hand on the steering wheel as I hummed to the song that played through the speakers.
Once I reached the busy streets of Vegas, I slowed down and cut off my music. Lots of people walked up and down the strip, the club was in the center of it all. I parked the car and took a deep breath. I hope this wasn't a shitty idea.
As I anticipated, there was hardly anyone in the club. I took one look around the room before I spotted her.
Her outfit was black and consisted entirely of a fishnet material. Her heels were long and covered in rhinestones. Her hair was straightened instead of curled but it's touch of blonde was still visible.
My stomach felt like it was doing flips. Her beauty is intimidating.
I approached her slowly. There was a purple sofa that sat in front of the circular stage. I dropped down in the seat and leaned back, watching her twirl around the pole a few times.
She slowed down once she noticed me. She put her hand on her hip and glared at me. I could feel her looking me up and down. She stopped at my face and we locked eyes. Her gaze was intense.
"I hope you didn't come empty handed. I don't do this for free." She warned.
I reached into my pocket and pulled out my money. "You remember me from last night, right?" I asked as I shuffled through the money in my hand.
"How could I forget a face like yours," She teased, "Plus you tip well."
"So I've been told." I said with a smile on my face.
"What made you come back?" She asked. I shrugged my shoulders, "Just couldn't resist."
"Now, let's see what a few hundreds could get me." I said, counting about three hounded dollars. "Only a few?" She said with an eyebrow raised.
"You have to work for the rest." I laughed. "You don't do this for free, remember?"
She placed her hand on the top of the pole and swung her leg around before pulling herself up. I watched her move her body in a rhythmic manner to the music that played over the speakers.
By the end of my session money was scattered all of the place. On the stage, the sofa, the floor, everywhere. She sat on the edge of the stage, gently kicking her legs back and forth.
I was still sitting in my spot, leaning back against the sofa, legs spread apart.
"This is probably the most I've ever made on a Sunday." She said, looking at the money.
"There's more where that came from. You could see it one day if you give me a chance." I said, trying to keep a flirty tone. "First of all, I'm not that easy. Secondly, I don't do relationships with my customers." She said.
"I can be more than a customer." I said, shrugging my shoulders. "I'm not sure if you can handle all of this." She said, gesturing to herself. "I'm more than a pretty face, you know?"
"I know and that's why I wanna get to know you— the real you." I said.
"And how do you plan on doing that?" She asked. "I could take you somewhere but it wouldn't be a date. You could just tag along." I suggested.
"And what exactly would I be tagging along to?"
"I have a charity dinner to attend. Some of Las Vegas's top money makers go and spend their time donating or becoming sponsors." I explained.
"You're one of Las Vegas's top money makers?" She questioned. "I told you there's more where that came from." I repeated.
"Well how do you make your money?" She asked. And there goes the question I was trying to avoid.
"Let's avoid going into detail and focus on the real questions. Would you like to be my plus one?" I asked once again. She tilted her head and looked at me whilst squinting.
"We'll be supporting a good cause...there's plenty of food involved." I was trying my best to tempt her into going. I haven't known her for long but it's obvious she's the type to put up at fight.
"You swear that things will stay professional? No funny business?" She asked. "I swear." I said, my hands up in defense.
"And you promise that this is completely platonic? No strings attached?" She said. I nodded.
"Fine...I'll go." She said.
"Oh, and one last thing before you go." She said as she came down from the stage. "We need to know each other names if we're actually gonna do this."
I stood up, "Billie." I said.
She walked over to me, "Naomi." she said.
"That's a pretty name." I said. "Thank you, Billie."
I couldn't help but smile at the way my name sounded coming from her lips. She says it with this sort of grace, her voice like honey.
"I'll pick you here, next Saturday at six."
"Anything specific I should wear?" She asked. "Something formal. Neutral colors." I said.
"I think I can pull that off."
"I'm sure you can."
