the smile never left jimin’s lips as he and jungkook stepped out of the plane and set their feet on the beautiful island of saipan in the early morning light. the air was warm, salty, and impossibly fresh. jimin immediately tilted his head back, taking long, deep breaths, filling his lungs completely with the scent of the sea and blooming flowers. jungkook stood a step behind him, watching quietly with soft eyes that lingered longer than usual. the taller male couldn’t look away. jimin’s hair danced gently in the breeze, strands flying across his forehead and cheeks, making him look almost unreal. in jungkook’s eyes, his husband was mesmerizing — a true beauty wrapped in the softest, kindest heart he had ever known.

they stood in front of the airport for a few peaceful minutes, simply soaking in the moment. the sun was still gentle, painting everything in warm golden hues. soon their driver arrived — a polite man dressed neatly — guiding a sleek, luxurious black car toward them. jungkook placed a protective hand on the small of jimin’s back and led him inside first, making sure he was comfortable before sliding in beside him. the driver loaded their luggage into the trunk with practiced efficiency, then returned to the driver’s seat and began the drive toward their private beach house, where they would spend several blissful weeks on their honeymoon.

inside the car, jungkook couldn’t stop observing his husband. he watched every small reaction, every flicker of emotion that crossed jimin’s delicate features. whenever they passed something beautiful — a stretch of turquoise ocean peeking through the trees, colorful tropical flowers lining the road, or a glimpse of white sand beaches — jimin’s eyes would sparkle like tiny stars. he rolled down the window without hesitation, letting the warm island breeze rush in and caress his face. jimin closed his eyes for a moment, leaning slightly toward the open window, allowing the air to brush over his skin, tousle his hair, and bring the faintest, most content smile to his plump lips.

“god… he’s so beautiful,” jungkook thought silently, his chest tightening in a way he still didn’t fully understand. that smile — small, genuine, and so purely happy — made something inside him ache sweetly. jimin opened his eyes again and resumed gazing at the passing scenery, cheeks flushed from the wind and excitement. then he felt it — the weight of a stare. slowly, he turned his head. jungkook was already leaning closer, gaze intense, dark eyes fixed only on him. jimin’s cheeks bloomed with color instantly. he blushed hard, heart skipping when he realized how near his husband was. jungkook’s lips curved into that familiar, teasing smirk. he started to lean in, intending to steal a quick, soft peck —

but jimin’s phone suddenly rang, the cheerful ringtone slicing through the quiet moment.

jimin blinked, startled, then quickly fished the phone out of his pocket. “hello?” he answered, voice bright. almost immediately a wide, joyful smile spread across his face. the familiar voice on the other end made his eyes light up even more.

jungkook’s jaw tightened. he clenched his fist against his thigh, watching the way jimin’s entire expression softened with happiness. “for whom is he smiling so widely?” jungkook thought bitterly, poking the inside of his cheek with his tongue. “i should be the only reason for that beautiful smile.”

“i’m doing absolutely fine, hyung,” jimin said warmly, voice full of affection. “how are you and the others? i miss you guys so much. when are you all coming to korea? you haven’t even met my husband yet.” he pouted his lips playfully, glancing sideways at jungkook, who quickly forced a small, polite smile even though jealousy was already burning low in his stomach. he didn’t want jimin to see it. not yet.
