𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐒 a sigh leave his lips as he locked his phone and sat it faced down on the table in front of him.

"What's with the long sigh?" Jonathan asked, eating one of the fries on his plate.

"Meredith isn't answering my texts." He sat back, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Maybe she's busy." Maddie shrugged her shoulders.

"It shows that she read the message." He gave her a blank look before standing up, "Let's just go back to my apartment so I can figure out why she isn't answering me."

Madelyn's eyes grew wide as she watched Austin make his way to the counter to pay for their food, turning to Jonathan as they both stood up, "Text one of the guys and tell them we're coming back early."

"I hope she's already there, or this surprise is gonna be one epic fail."

Madelyn sighed, "Tell me about it."

❝𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 the two of you been?! ❞ Madison exclaimed as the front door to Austin's apartment came open.

Chase came inside with three suitcases, and a milkshake cup in his hand with Meredith walking in behind him with a diaper bag on her shoulder, Kennedy's carrier in her hand, and a milkshake in her empty hand.

"Austin and the others are literally two minutes away!"

"Uh..." Chase trailed off as he and Meredith looked at each other wide eyed.

Meredith gave the girl a sheepish look, "We stopped for milkshakes."

Rudy gasped, "And you didn't bring me one?"

Meredith held out the cup in her hand, still half full. "You can have the rest of mine if you want it. I don't really drink a lot of milkshakes."

"See? I like her." Rudy took the cup from her hand, bringing the straw up to his mouth.

"Hey, Mer." Drew walked out of the kitchen to give her a side hug.

"Hey."

"It's so not fair that you got to talk to her before we did." Madison pouted.

"Austin gave me Drew's number just in case there was ever an emergency with Kennedy, and I couldn't get a hold of him." Meredith tells her with a shrug. "Guess it was easiest to give my number to him since they're roommates."

"Guys, JD just texted me." Chase came back from Austin's room to put up the suitcases, "They're walking up now."

"Okay, you and Kennedy go into Austin's room, second door on the left, and you'll know when to come out." Drew tells the blonde, who nodded and made her way to the bedroom.

Sitting the baby carrier down on the bed, Meredith unbuckled the straps and carefully took out her three month old daughter so that she wouldn't wake her up, and cradled Kennedy in her arms as she heard the front door open and close soon after.

"Whoa, dude. What's up with you?" Rudy's voice was heard.

"Meredith isn't answering my text messages, and I've called her six times since we left the restaurant." Austin's voice was heard, a long and loud sigh leaving his lips. "Has she texted you?"

"I don't know." Drew's voice spoke and Meredith took that as her chance to walk out, "Mer, did you text me?"

"I think I did this morning." Meredith spoke as she walked out into the living room. "I'm not sure though."

Austin's head snapped in her direction, and he stands up, making is way over to his girlfriend and daughter, "What are you doing here?"

"Kennedy and I decided to come visit for a little bit." Meredith tells him as he carefully took his daughter into his arms and leaned down to kiss his girlfriend.

"It's so weird to see Austin with a baby." Madelyn laughed as she watched the scene.

"She's not leaving my arms for a while." Austin tells them.

"Awe, that's not fair." Rudy whined, playfully stomping his foot, "Meredith said that I could hold her after you."

"You can hold her when she wakes up from her nap." Meredith tells him. "I need to put up her playpen, so she'll have a place to sleep."

"Did you bring it with you, or do we need to buy one for here?" Austin asked, not taking his eyes off his sleeping daughter.

"I left it in the car since we didn't have that many hands to carry everything up." She tells him.

"I'll go get it." Chase stood up from where he was sitting and walked out of the door.

"Ugh, she's so tiny." Madelyn walked over to take a peek at the baby in Austin's arms. "How old is she?"

"She's almost four months." Meredith tells her, brushing her finger gently across her daughter's cheek.

Austin smiles down at his sleeping daughter, bouncing her gently in his arms as he listened to his girlfriend and cast mates talking to each other.
