New Faces, New Sides

Soobin, Kai, and Taehyun are sprawled on the floor of Soobin's former 'playroom', now his very own 'man cave', entertaining themselves with a new game Namjoon brought back when he last went to the States. A dark room lit by flashes from the game on the TV, chip bags and drink cans lay empty near their owners. Kai sips lazily on his third soda as he watches the eventful punches, kicks, and jumps play out on the screen with Soobin and Taehyun furiously clicking away on their controllers. Taehyun's phone vibrates.

"Can you check that for me?" he asks without looking away from the TV. The blond leans over the long bunny boy laid out on the floor and grabs the phone. "Oh, it's your cousin! He says they're about thirty minutes away." 

Taehyun nods his head, "Ah ok, then I'm gonna head out." and clicks a button that pauses the game. "Wanna take over for me?" He passes the controller to Kai who eagerly accepts it and in turn hands back the others' phone. Taehyun stands up and heads to the door, looking back he sees the two zoned back in on the TV as they tap away to beat the other. "Oh don't get up, I'll see myself out." he says flatly. Soobin smiles and wiggles his tush, "Taehyunie looovvveee yyyooouuuuu!" A big laugh barks out of Kai's laugh and Taehyunie rolls his eyes with a chuckle, "See you guys later" and takes his leave.

Thirty minutes later, Taehyun is sitting in his living room scrolling around on social media when he comes across a new post from Beomgyu's account; a shot taken from above of him and Heeseung laying on Beomgyu's bed, eyes closed and heads together slightly facing towards each other. "I feel so lucky knowing I have someone I can lean on" reads the caption. Well, aren't they close, Taehyun thinks annoyingly. A mix of jealousy and guilt punches at his heart. They have always been close, what if they're... No. Well, I can't expect him to wait forever and he obviously has other options... He lets out a long sigh and slips his phone into his pocket, looks like they're here, sensing several more vampires approach.

Walking out his front door, through the newly turned evening sky, Taehyun sees sets of glowing lights and dark outlines of two vans pulling into the roundabout in front of his home.

Once stopped, Taehyun walks towards the cars and the doors open. Several boys get out of the cars, stretching their legs. Taehyun bows to greet them then hears a squeal.

"My dear little cousin, you've gotten almost as handsome as me!"

Taehyun lets out a laugh, "That's funny, 'cause I was just thinking the same thing!" and gets engulfed in an energetic hug.

"Good to see you Taehyunie!"

"Good to see you, too, Wooyoung!"

A small cough is heard to the side and Taehyun looks over to a man with vibrant red hair while Wooyoung completely turns his back the opposite way. "You guys! Come over here and meet my cousin!" Several boys walk over and make their way around Wooyoung and Taehyun.

"Taehyun this is Yeosang," Taehyun nods to an angelic looking blond boy, "Jongho," he nods to a fierce yet cute boy with auburn hair, "Yunho and Mingi." he looks up and nods to two tall boys, one with dark hair and the other with orange. They all smile politely and greet Taehyun, shaking his hand. "So yeah, that's them-ugh whaaaaat?" he says dramatically rolling his eyes and turning around to taping on his shoulder then immediately retreats to a sheepish grin and an amusing laugh. "Oh yes! How could I forget!" At the sight of the red head's flaming eyes, a squeal escapes out of Wooyoung's mouth and he hides behind his cousin.

Oh no, Taehyun thinks, immediately identifying what kind of vampire the redhead is from his presence, he (Wooyoung) did not just do that.

Wooyoung rests his chin on Taehyun's shoulders, "This is our oh-so-important Captain! Kim Hongjoong of the pureblood Kim clan in Anyang!" Sarcasm was everywhere in that sentence.
