With You, Under the Moonlight

Short II: Lunchtime EEZ

***Right after Beomgyu and Taehyun got together***

It's lunchtime at Ito High School and four friends are collected around a desk at school, eagerly hanging off every word spoken by the one with shaggy brown hair. At least, most of them are...

"Ya...wake up Jeongin!" bugs an annoyed looking Heeseung.

"Wha, huh? Oh sorry, I guess I've been staying up a bit more than usual..." the oldest four says, rubbing his eyes, "What are we talking about again?"

Lim Jimin and Heeseung couldn't believe what they're hearing, "Um, HELLO? Beomgyu was just getting to the good part!"

Beomgyu laughs, "Awww, it's ok! Our lil' fox just a lil' sweepy~" The others join in with the teasing, poking and pinching at Jeongin's cheeks as he tries to swipe the prying hands away. This seems to bring some life back into the older and he apologizes over and over until the others decide to stop. They motion Beomgyu to go on...

"As I was saying," he says, shooting Jeongin an 'evil glare', then continues telling his story with a sense of drama weaving through his words, "It was like a movie! I was standing in the rain for a couple minutes–"

"Wait, why wouldn't you just go inside? You could have caught a cold." Lim Jimin asked.

"Well, I was afraid to go inside because I thought if I faced him, things would end between us–"

"Like, YOU end things, or HIM?"

Jeongin scoffs, "Why the hell would Beomgyu end things with someone he's head over heels for?"

"Oh, so you have been listening." Heeseung comments with a smirk and Jeongin sticks his tongue out at him. 

They look back over at their brown haired friend who is picking at his nails in a rather petty manner.

"Then what happened?" asks Yang Jeongin.

"Oh? No, it's fine. You guys continue doing what you're doing." he replies in a puot, eyes glued to his nails.

"Gyyyyyuuuuuuu!"

Beomgyu wines back with his friend's nickname, "J-Jmmmmmmmiiiinnnn!"

'Jjmin', or Lim Jimin, reaches out and playfully begins to shake the older, Beomgyu couldn't help the smile creeping on his face. "Are you guys actually gonna let me finish or keep interrupting?" The friends eagerly shake their head yes and Beomgyu sighs, "Fiiiiiiinnnnneeeee. So, here I am–" Jeongin coughs. Beomgyu freezes mid sentence and stands to walk away. The three others burst into a laugh and throw themselves at the hunter, physically hanging off him to keep him from leaving. 

"We're sorry! We're sorry!"

Beomgyu battles against the weight of the three friends, "No, no, I am understanding loud and clear! I'll just see myself out thank you very much."

After a lot more pleading, compliments, and sucking up, Heeseung, Lim Jimin, and Jeongin managed to persuade their Gyu to finish telling them the story of how he and Taehyun officially got together.

"AS I WAS SAYING, here I am standing all sad in the rain when the doors suddenly burst open and Taehyun is there. It was really something; he looked just like a beautiful, noble prince who was searching for his maiden~"

 For the sake of their friend, it took all their might for the three boys to hold in their laughs and side comments. Beomgyu didn't even notice with being too caught up in la la land, " I thought to myself, 'How the hell are you supposed to get over this walking work of art, Gyu?', when I blinked and he's suddenly in front of me and starts kissing me! I was so startled and couldn't even believe what was going on!"

"This happened this past weekend?"

"Yeah!" Beomgyu says all bubbly. "Two days ago on Saturday. Your Gyu is no longer a lone wolf!"

"What were we then." Heeseung says flatly and Beomgyu lets out a nervous laugh. "Oh, I'm just messing with you~" then starts messing with the hunter's hair.

Jeongin crosses his arms with an annoyed expression on his face, "Well, I'm just glad this emotional roller coaster is finally over. If it went on any longer, we would have had to do some kind of intervention."

Beomgyu's heart sank a bit, "What? An intervention? Come on guys, don't be dramatic. It's not like it was toxic and he was treating me badly–"

"UM, you were too blinded by 'love' to notice, but let me put it this way: What would you do if Heeseung's guy, Jake, or whatever the hell he is, kept toying with him and leading him on forever and messing with his feelings?"

Beomgyu dramatically let out a heavy 'UGH' before making his claim, "Ok, A) Taehyun wasn't 'toying' with me. The feelings were mutual between us but he just had some personal things to work out! He didn't think it'd be fair to me to be with me while he was still figuring out some stuff. And B) Jake is not toying with Heeseung? Yeah, OK." Now the attention is all on Heeseung.

Victimized, Heeseung quickly becomes flustered, "Hey! Below the belt Gyu! And since when are we talking about me, huh? We are being a bit overprotective though, don't you think?" he questions, looking between Jeongin and Lim Jimin whose expressions get touched with guilt. 

Heeseung turns to the shaggy haired boy and places a hand on his shoulder in attempt to comfort his disheartened frown, "Sorry Beomgyu, we don't mean to rain on your parade, we were just starting to get worried. We, well, I, know Taehyun isn't a bad person, but these two," he motions towards the other half of their group of four, "haven't really seen him since he basically vanished back in middle school. Can you really blame them?"

Beomgyu pouts his lip and thinks. Then suddenly, "Ha! Sounds like we're all due for a reunion, don't ya think? How about it? The five of us, all hanging out like the old days!" Heeseung looks past Beomgyu, whose mind is up in the clouds, at the other two and shoots them a warning look as in, "You better play along". Following Heeseung's lead, Lim Jimin and Jeongin start laughing along with Beomgyu and agree that yes, they'll give Taehyun a chance and reunite with their old fifth buddy.
