Except this one specific day I was in the 8th grade. Earlier that day I got put into a group to do a project and I didn't mind because it was easy. So we exchanged numbers and went our separate ways. My mom volunteered at my older brother's high school as a band mom which was fine with me. I didn't mind. She set up a snack stand. Honestly the fund raiser worked pretty well. Kids would buy up to ten dollars worth of snacks and I understand that but this one particular guy actually was the last customer of the  day and bought twenty dollars worth of snacks. My mom just looked at him and was like “I know you're not gonna eat all of this by yourself?” and he respectfully said “yes ma’am” then looked over at me asking how I was doing? Honestly I just wanted to get the school project out of the way but my mom asked me to get what he asked for. Because she had to go to the restroom. I told her to go ahead I got it. She quickly disappeared around the corner headed to the restroom. I got off the phone and grabbed a bag for his snacks and I guess he thought I just ignored him when he greeted me but I didn't. I was so concentrated on my work that I forgot to greet him back. So I put all his snacks in the bag but while I was doing that I answered his question “I’m doing fine, what about yourself?” He looked up from his phone with a confused look and said “huh?” I lifted my head for a split second and had to look away from him. “You asked me how I was doing right and I replied I'm doing fine. i'm sorry i got a school project to finish that's why i couldn’t answer you i wasn’t trying to be rude”. I could feel him smiling  but I was so shy I didn't even want to look up at him.
