Kiss Kiss: Chapter 5

No one's POV:

"Hey, Red," Nini said as she waved over to the refreshed boy, holding Ricky's hand as they walked over.

"Hi Neens, Ricky, what's up guys?" Red asked as he saw the two of them smirking, "You didn't? Ricky, seriously?"

"I'm sorry, Nini knew I was hiding something." Ricky explained, looking over at Nini with an apologetic look on his face.

"I mean, I don't know why we all fell apart in the first place, and I have my own feelings on all of them. If you want to kiss Ashlyn, I can't really stop you."

As the bell rang, Red turned around and started to walk away, but not before he could answer Nini. "No you can't, I have a lot of thinking I need to do."

"Wow you two have come a long way with this project!" Mr. Stuart exclaimed as he looked at the poster Ashlyn and Big Red had been working on during the class.

"Thank you, Mr. Stuart!" Ashlyn thanked him as he walked away from their table.

"My mom said bye, by the way. She said it was nice to have another girl in the house again since my sisters are away." Red told her, suddenly remembering the conversation between him and his mom.

"Oh, that's really sweet of her. I always did like your mom, she was there when my parents and aunt and uncle were too busy to pay attention..." Ashlyn trailed off, suddenly turning somber as she thought about her family.

"Hey, she always has and will be there for you, no matter what. Even before all this happened my mom would always, "Ashlyn this" or "Ashlyn that". She thought about you all of the time." Red said as he looked at Ashlyn's face soften at the new information.

"That's very sweet of her, she means a lot to me." Ashlyn said as she packed up her papers, "I'm going to the hospital to visit Seb, do you, um, want to come?"

"I have to go help out at Slices, otherwise I would've. Thank you, for the invite, though." Red smiled as he thought of spending more time with Ashlyn.

"See ya tomorrow." Ashlyn called back to him as she left the classroom.

As Ashlyn made her way to the hospital she couldn't help but think of the events over the past few weeks. It was very strange and sudden to her, but she missed Big Red - more than she realized - and was happy to be friends again.

After she pushed the doors open, Ashlyn walked in and got her sticker from the receptionist and went straight to Seb's room.

"Hi Sebby, it's been weird without you, I can't wait to give you the biggest hug when you wake up. Milky White's here looking over you, waiting for you to wake up too. It's one of the better ideas our group has had in a while, actually." Ashlyn laughed as she thought of all the things they've done.

After about 19 minutes of silence, Ashlyn grabbed Seb's hand and gave it a tight squeeze, "I should tell you cause you know how I felt about him, Red and I almost kissed...again. I know you didn't know that originally almost happened, but surprise it did. I wish Ricky hadn't walked in, maybe we all could've been friends again."

Smiling down at her blonde best friend, Ashlyn got up from the chair and walked towards the door.

"Ashlyn?"

Looking around the room, Ashlyn shrugged and turned to leave once again.

"Ash? Don't leave." A hoarse voice mumbled out...Seb, Seb's voice!

"Seb! Oh thank goodness, I need to text everyone." Ashlyn said after she gave a humongous bear hug to her best friend. "Okay I texted EJ and Carlos they'll let the others know."
