Chapter 2

Luckily that day wasn't very busy, they only had a few minor cases, but even so Dazai made sure that he was always able to see Ranpo, everything was going completely fine. Only a few hours before they were all done for the day the president came out of his office. He walked over to Ranpo and anyone who was worried before (aside from Ranpo and Dazai) was no longer fearing that they might have some super serious case or that anything bad had happened.All he did before he went right back to his office was say.

"Ranpo, Dazai could you two please stay awhile after work"

And of course they both had said yes, after all they had no reason not to, and Ranpo was sure that no one had seen the bandages around his wrists so everything would be fine.

When it reached 5:00pm everyone got up to leave as per usual, but just like the president had requested Dazai and Ranpo had stayed back. After about 10 or so minutes everyone had left except for them.

"So Ranpo do you have any idea why the president wants to talk to us?" Dazai asked now getting up and going to sit on the front of Ranpo's desk.

"Nope" was all he said.

After about 10 more minutes the president came out to talk to them. He pulled over a chair and placed it in front of Ranpo's desk, which is where they both were seated, Ranpo being in his chair, and Dazai sitting on the front of his desk. He sat down on the chair and looking each of them in the eye.

"Do either of you know why I asked you to stay late?"

"No sir we don't" Dazai was the one to answer.

"Well I thought it best to discuss this privately, I know it may be a sensitive subject, but regardless I'm going to talk about it."

By now both Ranpo and Dazai were both starting to get the idea that the president knew what Ranpo had don't the night before.

They all sat there in silence for a moment before the president continued.

"As you probably have by now guessed, i know what happened last night"

Dead silence, no one said a thing for what felt like forever.

"Was that all?" Dazai and fukuzawa were both surprised as to who spoke up first, Ranpo was looking into straight into the presidents eyes, then leaving no time for anyone else to speak he continued. "I assume you would have more to say, then just that you know"

Dazai and fukuzawa were still both shocked, but they recovered only a second later. Dazai looked to the president and decided that he should stay quiet for now and let them talk and fukuzawa looked at Ranpo so there gazes met.

"I just want to ask why, and I would also like to know that you won't do that again"

"I thought you said you knew what happened, or do you not know what was said"

"I only know that you tried to end your own life" he paused "and that Dazai saved you"

"Yes that did happen but since you know that, I'll tell you what I told Dazai, I don't know why i did it"

"Okay I won't push any further on that matter, I would just like to know that you won't do it again" fukuzawa said now with a much softer look in his eyes, it resembled the eyes of a worried parent.

"I won't" Ranpo's gaze now also softened and he had gotten up and walked over to Fukuzawa and he hugged him.

Fukuzawa hugged him back and looked over to Dazai who had watched the entire thing happen, and he smiled at him and mouthed the words thnak you. And Dazai just smiled and nodded back.

After a few moments of hugging Ranpo let go and walked back over to Dazai.

"Well now that we got the settled we have to head back to my place, right Dazai?" Ranpo said looking up a Dazai "that is unless you have any other plans."

Dazai smiled at him "can we aleast stop by my place so I can get some clothes first?"

"Sure now let's go" Ranpo said grabbing on to Dazai's sleeves and pulling him out of the agency with him.

"Have a good night you two" fukuzawa called after them, but he wasn't completely sure if they heard him or not. He smiled to him self before he got his things and went back to his own apartment.

This chapter is kinda short but it's all I could think of.
