Emily's pov:
I was talking with Hotch at the station still. Derek had gone to get us coffee, Rossi was talking to the parents again, and Spencer was sitting in the corner not moving, clearly lost in some weird though process."So let's say this is our 6th victim. Why wasn't she reported missing anywhere? I checked with Garcia again and no one even close to her age was reported within the last week." Hotch said.
"What if he killed the parent? That's why nothings been reported." I suggested. "But that's a very drastic change. If he had, he would've taken the little girl from her home, not a park, his usual spot. He couldn't have killed parents at the park, someone would've noticed." Hotch sighs.
"She could have been severely neglected or homeless? The hospital said she was distressed when coming in, maybe she had been abused before the situation." I didn't like thinking about that, but it was a real possibility.
"Right now that's our most believable option." He said, glancing down at his phone. "JJ just texted me."
I could see his face change, and he looked a little more upset than before. "What'd she say?"
"This girl is most likely our 6th victim." He told me. "How sure are you?"
"I'd say about 87%. She's the right age, race, gender, and same eye and hair colour. JJ said she had old bruises, things that probably happened months ago."
"So she's been abused before." I tapped my fingers on the table. "Did the girl say anything else?"
"She hasn't said anything. No name, parents, locations. Nothing." He glanced back to his phone.
Just then one of the detectives walked into the room. "Agents? Luis Ramirez's body was just found in the alley."
Hotch looked up. "What? It's only been a day?" He slammed his hand down on the table. I couldn't help but think of jack. He was only 5, around the same age as these kids. I'm sure he's thinking it too.
"So he's speeding up. Most likely he'll take another pair of kids soon." I sighed.
"Reid I want you down at the dumpsite. I'll tell Rossi to meet you there." He said. Spencer got up and started walking.
Derek walked into the room, handing us all coffee which we very much appreciated. "What happened?"
"Luis Ramirez was just found in the alley. He's moving faster. I think our best chance right now is getting something out of that little girl. Derek and Emily you guys come with me down to the hospital." He said, and we all grab our stuff.
JJ's pov:
I had finally gotten the girl to calm down a little. Holding her seemed to help a lot.I looked up when I heard a soft knock on the door. The girl instantly rolled off of me, so I got up and opened it.
A very bubbly looking blonde woman came into the room. "I'm Dr. Robbins!" She said, with a smile. I shook her hand, and gave a small smile back.
"Hi sweetie pie." She said, kneeling in front of the girl. In response she rolled over to the other side of the bed, facing away from the doctor.
Dr. Robbins sighed, and got up to try again. "I need to put something in your arm, it's going to help you feel better." She said with a smile.
She was met with a tiny fist punching out at her, but she managed to barely miss it. She got the message, and walked back over to me.
"I need to get an iv in her arm. It's a light sedative so it won't knock her out, just make her drowsy. I need to do an X-ray to check for breaks and I also want to do an ultrasound for internal bleeding." She told me. I nodded, knowing this wasn't going to go well.
