She had been through hell
and though no one could see her demons
they could see the face
that conquered them.

Blood covered Miriam Quinn's hands. She was a murderer, a survivor of the Hunger Games. She'd won in the worst way possible, coming back to her home in one piece physically but shattered mentally.

The Capitol had named her the Queen of Destruction, the nickname referring to the trail of bodies and blood Miriam had left in the Arena, each of her kills bloody and brutal.

Snow had thrust the crown of victory on her head and molded her into the perfect puppet, unaware that beneath the mask laid a vicious monster, ready to attack. Beneath the sickly sweet smile laid a young woman aching for revenge.

The hunger for revenge ate at Miriam, threatening to claw its way out of its cage. It simmered under her skin with every smile, with every man and woman she slept with, with every tribute she sent to their death.

She hide her feelings well, covering up her hatred with sickly sweet smiles and words dipped in sugar while fighting the urge to break the hand of the Capitol citizen which rested on her waist.

Jude Bennett wasn't meant to win, Miriam knew that for a fact. The eighteen year old from District Eight had a bond with her District Partner, and such bonds were dangerous as Miriam knew all too well.

The odds were stacked up against Jude, ready to suffocate the teenager by showing her that she wasn't going to make it out alive. But Miriam saw something in Jude's eyes that intrigued her more than she cared to admit.

          Determination.

Miriam watched as Jude and her District Partner made their way to the top Eight by hiding. She watched as the young boy was slaughtered mercilessly by the boy from Ten, only for him to be cut down by Jude, pure rage flashing across her face.

She watched with intrigue as Jude waited at the Cornucopia, striking down Tributes as they wandered into what she had claimed as her territory. Miriam's lips twisted into a satisfied smirk as the final fight commenced, it being bloody and brutal until Jude emerged victorious.

The Games had ruined Jude Bennett, much like they had done to Miriam Quinn.

Miriam had let out a sadistic laugh as she came to the realization that it was time for Coriolanus Snow to be played his swan song. And she was more than happy enough play it for him.

Her crown of victory lay shattered on her head, the pieces bloody and broken, but Miriam Quinn would happily use it to tear Snow apart.

okay, i am literally so excited for this story because both miriam and jude have been through a lot shit, but they are going to be very badass with some sexual tension.

also, this is a very slow burn, romance isn't the main plot here, it's a subplot and this is mostly a story about miriam and jude healing together.
