"Bucky, no. Absolutely not." You shook your head, pressing your back against the wall, "Drop that phone and I swear Steve will make another memorial for you."

Bucky chuckled, dangerously dangling your phone over the pool edge. Bucky Barnes has been your best friend since your first military mission. Bucky had acknowledged you way before you started military and decided to take Steve to one of your ceremonies. Of course, after the ceremony you were very muched embarrassed that someone so important as Captian America himself, was watching you. But, that's just how the three of you got so close now. Currently, you were trying to pack your bags for another mission you were assigned, when Bucky decided to delay your time and steal your phone. He didn't want you to go and you knew this, you've apologized several times but all you got in response was a goofy smile and another trick.

"Come on, if you want it you gotta come and take it." He smiled, swaying your phone a little more loose from his grip, "It's a cruel world out there, doll. You have to take what you want and keep it."

You scoffed, pushing yourself off the wall as you walked closer to him, "Don't you think out of all people, I'd know that? No? Weird. I thought you knew me."

He only smirked in response, "Now now, play nice. You've only got an hour before you have to go. Wouldn't want something holding you up, would you?"

"Exactly my point."

Once you got close enough, you leaped for your phone, only for Bucky to turn away from you. You were quick though, you managed to grab his pants leg and pull him down with you. He quickly threw your phone before it got into the pool, aiming for the lounge chair in the corner.

"Doll!" Bucky whined, throwing his arms about as he breached the surface of the water, "Come on! Y'know I just got my hair maxed."

"Uh-huh." You hummed, breaking the surface as well, "Now it shrinks unevenly."

"Not fair." He mumbled, turning twoards you with a pout.

"Well it's not fair to me either," You begin, jumping onto the edge of the pool, "I'm soaked and my flight leaves in an hour. I've got to get to California before tomorrow afternoon and you're doing nothing but stalling."

You saw how you started talking he had a grin, and then when you finished it feel into a frown as he got out the pool with you. You knew you sounded a but harsh, but it was true. Your general called for a Sargent and that was you, who was needed in yet another mission almost 6 hours away from where you were. It was already night, you needed to board your plane, check into your hotel, and do drills before the actual mission even began. Not to mention Tony was begging for you to fly private, perks come with him being drunk and singing his heart out with you. Coming from experience.

"Of course I am." Bucky whispered under his breath, looking at you with sad eyes, "I don't want you to go at all. But, I also know you don't have a choice. I just- I don't want to see you hurt, doll. Or worse..dead. I can't go on knowing that you'd be in a hospital or six feet under ground...never."

"But I'm not, Buck. I'd never leave you that quick or that easy." You answered, wringing out your hair.

"You don't know that."

Your lips turned into a straight line as eyed him down, a conflicted tone in your voice, "I do know that. I'll never leave your side like this, I've been at it to long. I may come back beaten and bruised, but I pinky swore you on this when I first started. Besides, Steve will be here so that way you won't be alone."

A small smirk appeared on Bucky's face, making this situation a little better from your speech.

"Fine." He let out a heavy breath, "But I swear to you like I do everytime, if you don't come back alive-"

"You'll have Strange turn back time just so you can kill me again." You laughed, "Uh-huh. Got it."

You started to stand up so you could change, but Bucky grabbed you by your ankle and threw you in the pool again. A victorious grin on his face.

"As long as you know."

"Damn it, Y/n!" Tony huffed, pressing down on your chest more, "Come on, wake up. If you don't, Barnes will put me in a microwave and never look back."

The CPR Tony was giving was out of desperation. Not for himself, but for you. He wanted to see his little sister alive, well, smiling, and back to your annoying habits of chewing in his ear for fun. He didn't want to see the gaping hole in your side from wood, or the flatline that was ringing in his ears from a grenade. He wanted to see you up and running, daring someone to drink egg yolk, or taking Scott's suit and running around the Tower hiding from him.

"Hold on tight." Tony warned the others, pulling out the hand of his suit.

"Why? What are you doing? We need to save her not mess with your toys, Tony!" Bucky screamed, replacing Tony's CPR with his own.

"I know! So back the hell up!" He shouted back, taking a deep breath, "Wake up sis, wake the fuck up."

With a deep inhale, he blasted his repulser twoards you, giving you at least 1,000 volts in electricity. For a moment, everything was still, nothing could be heard but the ragged breaths of both Tony and Bucky. Then, your eyes flew open and you quickly stumbled off the table, coughing violently.

"Sargent, give me your location!" General Mosley, demanded through your ear peice.

If you weren't so focused on aiming from high ground, you would've crumbled your ear peice into shards. When you left for your plane, you felt like something was off as soon as you exited the doors to the Airport. California felt odd to you, and it wasn't like it was your first time there, but you felt as if everyone you passed by eyed you down or were plotting. You wanted to turn around and immediately go home, but you had a mission. You couldn't back out now. So, for four days, you felt that presence everywhere you went. Even when you were in your hotel room alone, taking with Bucky, you felt as if you were being watched.

You sighed heavily, unmuting yourself, "West side, 34th floor veiw. I've got two in sight. Permission to take them out?"

"No. Not yet."

No? Isn't what this mission was about? To take out the enemy? So why the hell not? And why did you ask permission to take out your job?

"Sir, with all due respect, isn't that what I came here for?" You asked, brows furrowed.

"Not you, no. I'll have Sargent Abby take them out." General Mosley informed, he sounded...off.

"But sir, she's-" You stopped.

Where was everyone in the first place? You arrived by yourself, had a room to yourself, and didn't see anyone when this mission started. General Mosley assured you that they were coming, so, where were they?

Shit.

All you heard from there was a helicopter above you, and General Mosleys voice interrupting your thoughts, "Hail Hydra."

A grenade fell out of nowhere and infront of you. Before you could react, it went off.
