The next few days passed with Misha and Norman making up games and playing the same games with Misha's grandmother. Games were easy enough, like I spy, but everything we see are clouds; Guess the food, but every food item is just a weird tasteles sludge.
Fourth and the last day of travelling, Norman remembered that Misha's grandmother was a Knight.
"Mam, you used to be a Knight, why did you quit?" Asked, Norman.
"Granny do you have any stories about your days as a Knight?" Asked Misha. Well, it did seem as if the kids won't stop asking until she tells them at least one story.
"Tell us granny!" Misha screamed excitedly. Looking down at her granddaughter, Maria saw her own daughter wanting to hear stories from the Gray Owl.
"Oh, it won't hurt to tell you a story or two. But where do I start off from. Let us see..."Maria has just become the General of the Gray Owl Knight Order. She was one of the younger graduated knights but her swordmanship style was one of the fastest styles and she was able to climb to the top of the Gray Owl Knight Order.
At only twenty-two, Maria possessed enough magic and sword skills to make a special magic sword edge.
"Wooow, granny, you were amazing!" Said Misha excitedly.
"Im telling a story, here, Malena." Reprimanded her Maria.
"Yes, Misha, shhh." Whispered Norman, while waiting for the story to continue.
"Where was I, oh, right." Maria continued to tell the story.
Maria had no opposition to taking the position of the General. Everyone believed in her skill, in her strength and her magic blade. In the eyes of others she didn't lack anything, she was a force to reckon with, not that any of the Knights would test her. Maria, on the other side knew that she lacked in so many things. First her gymnastics were subpar, she could never, for life of her, get her white hair to stay down properly and she wasn't very social. Even her magic blade was made through her lacking.
The reason why she is able to make the magic blade and why she is using it even in training is her sword. The blade she had, had once belonged to her father, who died five years prior. She did not want to get rid of the blade and trained and fought with it without putting it to rest or fixing it. The sword was chipping and turning itself to iron dust because of the use and all the fights it was through, through its life of forty two years.
She knew she will need a new sword, soon, as they were recruiting a lot more knights and that usually meant war.
Misha stopped her grandma there."Stop, Stop granny, wait." Misha was saying while frantically moving her arms in front of her. "Is war scary?"
"Shhhhh." Came once again Norman's whisper.
"Oh, right." Misha wanted the story to continue but there were so many things she didn't know. What is magic blade, how scary is war, how do you use magic. She didn't know these things and she wanted to know everything about them, now.
"Hahahaha, ah, Misha, I see that you want answers to everything but let's do it this way. If you ever decide to enter the Knight academy, I will personally teach you everything about being a Knight. Deal?" Truth be told Maria wanted Misha to enter the academy and she hoped she will do so one day.
Young Maria, back in the day, had a lot of money, but commissioning a custom made sword was still hard.
No matter how much money you had, if you couldn't find a good swordsmith you will never get the sword of your dreams.
Being a Knight demanded one to have a personal blacksmith or a swordsmith, not something Maria, nor her mother were able to pay for. One blacksmit costed 1000 gold coins per month and Maria's pay was 320 gold and 150 silver coins, per month.
So in order to get her new sword made, Maria took it upon herself to ask one of the famed swordsmith families for help.
In a town of Andia existed Mosay family, an imperial blacksmith family. And so to Andia Maria went. She took a week off and boarded a wind ship to the mainland. Upon touching down in Luusha she decided to do a bit of shopping. She did hear that the new blacksmith loved Warshmellow cake and she hoped this token would, somehow, get her on his good side. This gift, tho, will cost her a lot, so she decided to just wind board all the way to Andia.
Andia was a town cut into the mountain. That cut was made by a Razor Dragon, when he was fighting to survive an attack by a army of Drekavac.
