"Alright sally boy let's start your first lesson." I said, opening my room door.
We both sit down in the floor after I shut the door.
"Chocolate?" I offer.
"I'm alright, thanks though." He says.
"Okay. First thing, you always have to be a step ahead." I told him.
"What do you mean?" He cocked his head to the side.
'My heart'
"Uh so well... let's say for example, you get into a fight or something. And maybe it was unexpected. After that fight, you'll have to go home and explain it to your dad, right?" I ask.
He nods
"So on your way home, imagine scenarios of what you might tell him, and think about what he would realistically say. Think of all the different possibilities and prepare for them. Have different answers for all the possible questions. Think outside the box too. Even if there are some questions you think he may not even ask. If there is a chance he'll say it, think of an excuse. Make sure you go over your story, write it if you need to. Just make sure it all makes sense and don't contradict yourself or any statements you write."
"Also be sure to make sure the excuse is realistic enough to believe."
He nods to show that he's listening.
I continue. "A lot of people, but not everyone, do a specific thing when they lie. Whether they fidget with their hair or hands, stutter, avoid eye contact, or even if they're voice gets higher in pitch, if you can identify the people with habits, you can identify yours too, if you have one. These habits can signal when somebody's nervous or scared. But being nervous doesn't mean they're lying so also watch out for that."
"Just act natural. It may take some time but it'll get easier over time. Always prepare for the worst and never let your guard down. Make sure nobody is a witness, or make sure nobody can go against your story. Never let people know your plans unless you are certain they can keep a secret. Avoid telling more than one person your plans so that if it gets out, you know who told. Make sure nobody overhears plans."
"Also be able to act the part. Your emotions play a big part of making it believable."
"Here, this is a book with more tips and stuff you can study later." I hand him the book and continue speaking.
"All of these we can work on. Every week day come back over here to my place after school and we can practice lying with different scenarios and different emotions. I'll see you tomorrow then." I say with a smile.
"Oh alright then, bye Y/n I'll see you tomorrow." Sal says, as he gets up.
I watch him walk out my room door from my window and then see him look at the front of the house for a moment.
After making a eye contact for a second he leaves.
