As it sets behind a mountain, the sun puts an orange hue on the clouds. A boy with wavy light brown hair emerges, and a purple shimmering mist appears in the breeze. He feels his feet sink on the grassy ground, the chilly air on top of the mountain seeping through his skin.

When he opens his amber eyes, he sees his mother glaring at him with an eyebrow raised. "And where did you come from?"

He smiles awkwardly before reaching behind him and revealing a Maravilla flower in his palm. "This is something I brought for you."

She thankfully took the flower, wooed by her son's gift. Yet her mood abruptly switched back. "That doesn't excuse your actions, Victor." She fumes. "Where have you gone?"

He exhaled a heavy breath, admitting to her. "I wanted to see the village."

She crossed her arms and remained silent to reflect on what he had done. He could hear the wind's faint whispers and the expectation of her reprimand, he could feel the heat of her stare singe him. He moves his gaze lower, guiltily, to the floor, noticing her foot impatiently tapping on them.

He was in a lot of trouble.

"You had to teleport? You couldn't just walk over there? What if the villagers saw you?" She argued. "I've explained to you that our abilities—"

"—Should be kept secret, as it is only for the family. I know, mami." He groaned, defending himself. "No one saw me, so it's okay."

Disappointed, he kicks a pebble on the ground, causing it to travel down the curved slope. "I just wanted to learn and develop mine like Lulu and Matéo's."

With a downturned look, he lifts his arms, expecting his mother to grasp and strike them. A normal punishment for any misconduct in the Silvestre family.

. . .

Victor waited anxiously, but there was no movement from her. When he glances up, his amber eyes harden, and his gloomy expression remains.

His mother stood still, her features held no emotion, much like a blank page. But her hands were clenched, twitching; she was suppressing her rage. Secélia sighed, apologizing for upsetting him. She knew that he was too young to even have experienced this.

She was aware that Victor, at the age of four, was the youngest Silvestre to be blessed with magical powers. They were compelled to leave their house the same year for the sake of their family's safety.

Because he lacked knowledge and was underdeveloped, he had difficulty controlling his ability.

Since Victor's gift was teleportation, he kept disappearing during their search for a new home. They had to keep looking for him like a lost puppy. Once you leave your eyes on him, he disappears, leaving a fog of shining purple dust.

Fortunately, with the help of the oldest brother, they were able to find him. Lurking in the most dangerous parts of the forest.

Victor believed that when he was endowed with magical abilities at an early age, he was already obligated to protect his family. They were all struggling to survive, and she didn't want him to bear a burden at such a young age.

Her children were embracing their wonderful magical powers in the same way she had as a child, and she didn't want to restrict their freedom in the same way her grandfather had.
