Aurora tiptoes across the narrow hallways. The castle halls were made out of stone, all perfectly placed together. Yet Aurora notices the stone walls were built in various shapes and sizes. From the distance, it looked like culled together. But up close the hallway walls were a mosaic. All complimenting one another.
Aurora swiftly moves, not wanting anyone's attention. The paintings of her ancestors watching below. "I can't get caught this time!", she thought.
"Aurora!". Behind her, a semi-short woman with auburn hair stood, crossing her arms, "You can't just leave like that! You wouldn't want your parents to be mad again!"
Aurora lowers her whole body, "Come on Marilyn! I have been in my room all day! Can't I get a little fresh air"
"Absolutely not!" Her raucous voice echoed through the halls. "Aurora, the King and Queen ordered you to stay in your room until dinner".
Aurora rolls her eyes. It was unfair how Aurora had to stay in her room all day. Guards follow her every step. Even at school, she wasn't allowed to talk to the other students because of the number of people watching her every move.
"Marilyn please!"
Marilyn shook her head and grabbed Aurora's arm, dragging her across the hallway towards her room.
Aurora's room was huge. An oblong-shaped room against the wall is a big bed with many different kinds of pillows for Aurora to lay on. The Servants always have to make sure Aurora is comfortable. At the other end of her room was a piano. A few years ago her father got it for her to play with. It has been 3 years since and Aurora hasn't played a single note. On her emerald green walls, her paintings hung, and Aurora loved to paint. She could paint all day, it was the only way for her to keep her distracted from loneliness.
Aurora jumps on top of her bed, layings down her white silk sheets. Marilyn sits beside her, "Aurora", now soft-spoken, "You know you can't leave the castle".
"But why?", the Princess asked.
"Because it's too dangerous!"
Aurora huffs, "But I'm 16 now! I can handle it!".
"I know you young people think you're invincible, but you need to understand that you're mother and father know what's best".
Aurora sits up and stews. Her whole life has been behind these castle walls. She wants to explore, and try something new! Like sausages! Aurora has always thought sausages looked good but was never allowed to have sausages.
"Do I hear an argument?". Near the doorway, the Queen stood.
"Your majesty!" Marilyn stood up and bowed to her great goddess.
"Marilyn could you please leave, I would like to talk to my daughter"
"Yes, yes, of course, your highness". Marilyn walks halfway out of the room.
"Oh and Marilyn,'' said the Queen.
"Yes?"
"Please fetch my slippers, I think I lost them somewhere"
"Yes, will do your majesty". Marilyn leaves the room leaving Aurora and her mother to have an awkward conversation.
The Queen turns to Aurora, wearing a long sparkly red dress. Her jet black hair jet in front of her shoulders, Normally wearing a crown on her head but those for special occasions, like knighting ceremonies. Today's a casual day for the Queen. If casual meaning spending time in a luxurious furnished 10 stories castle with servants doing your every binding.
"I heard you were trying to escape earlier, Aurora".
"Yes, Mama, I did. I'm just so frus-". Aurora stops herself. She needed to be careful with what she was saying when it came to her Mother. One wrong move and she will be trapped in her castle for the rest of her life or until she becomes Queen.
"So-so bored. I'm just bored".
"Bored? Aurora why not go to the ping pong table room? Bouncy castle room? Or I know! The water slide room!"
Aurora rolls her eyes, although those sound appealing, she's been in those rooms at least over 1000 times. "Mommy please. I just want to the garden and sit in the flower field".
The Queen stood in place and gently touches the princess's cheeks, "Aurora...."
"Please. I promise I will bring the guards with me! I will still be in the castle walls! oh please!".
Her mother smiles, "Fine... but you have to at least bring 20 guards with you".
Aurora jumps into the air. "Yes! Yes! Thank you!". She squeezes her mother.
"Just don't tell your father!", The Queen yelled as Aurora runs out of the room.
