Aurora wakes up to a sound of a sword getting sharpened. She finds herself tied up on her chair. In front of her was a long table full of food, plates full of roast beef, mountains of potatoes, creamy boiling gravy, and strawberries; next to it was a chocolate fountain. Plates full of chopped meat and vegetables filled the room full of a savoury smell. It was like a thanksgiving dinner.
Her head pounds, a pain she has never felt before. In fact, she has never had any pain, ever.
"Well good morning". A voice said behind
Aurora tries to turn her head but she is met with a sharp pain around her neck, "Whos there...".
The stranger's hand slides across her neck and chuckles, "You know I was worried that we might have accidentally killed you".
Aurora shakes, "What do... you want? where's my mom and dad?".
The man laughs and gently brushes his hand on her cheek. "Now, now, wait until after dinner".
The golden curtains slowly unfold at the bottom was a woman, her bat was strapped to her back, "Finally, she's awake", she rolled her eyes, "I will go get, Sir GarcÃa".
The lady leaves. Aurora's heart starts to hammer, "What will happen to me? Is this punishment for leaving the castle?". Her eyes begin to water and pour down her face.
"Oh baby, don't cry". He smiles wickedly. "There are worse things to cry about".
"Where are my parents?" she stammered. "Mother!? Father!?... Marilyn?!".
The tall man fixes his tie, "Aurora, please be quiet we wouldn't want to upset me".
"Y-you know my name?".
The man laughs, "Of course, I d-".
"Lorenzo, Stai zitto" (shut up). A voice behind her boomed. "We wouldn't want to upset her".
Lorenzo, who was laughing before, straightened his back and bowed, "Yes, apologies sir".
The two men were now in front of Aurora. Compared to the other man with the cane, Lorenzo was a brunette with a fancy suit that looked unironed and Lorenzo was tall, but the man with the cane was huge.
"Lorenzo, you may leave, I would like to be with Aurora...alone", The man with the cane said with an accent.
Without saying a word, Lorenzo leaves. A few seconds ago, Aurora would have done anything to get away from Lorenzo but now she would rather be with him than with the stranger in front of her.
Now, alone with the huge man; in the old-fashioned, blue-orange light, dining room; Aurora tries to shift her hands up to untie herself but without success.
The man with a cane smiles at her. The smile was more than a snarl. A grin of a hunter that was tugging by the horns to lift its limp head. "Well good morning", he said cheerfully, bringing his cane up to his shoulders. Aurora doesn't respond. Instead, she looks at him carefully. His wrinkles fold every time he blinks, while his almost blading hair reminds her of her father. The thought of her father makes Aurora cry. "He must be so worried".
"What do you want from me?" Aurora yelled.
The man with the cane doesn't say anything. Instead, he walks over to the other side of the table and sits down. "Have you ever had turkey before?", he asked. Aurora just stared at him. But the man with the cane continued, "My son loves turkey. He would always get the first piece".
Aurora begins to steam. She doesn't want to talk about turkey. She wants to go home. "I will ask this again! Who are you! What do you want! Where are my parents!". Her voice echoed and bounced off the walls. It was the loudest her voice has ever gotten.
The man with the cane laughs, "Oh you remind me of your father. But you should know to never shout. Especially since you're a donne".
Aurora tiles her head. "Why is the man saying these weird words".
Behind Aurora the door opens again. "Who is it this time!". The man with the cane looks up, "Lorenzo! Ti avevo detto di non tornare!" (I told you to not come back!).
"I'm sorry, Padre (father), but I need to tell you something".
Aurora looks to her left to see not Lorenzo, but a different man, a man that looked younger. A man looked around Aurora's age.
The man makes eye contact with Aurora. "Oh apologies. I didn't realize we had a guest. I'm Bloodwood. Mike Bloodwood".
