The alarm radars next to my bed. It jolts me awake. I hit it to turn it off. This is my first day at a new school, in a new town. I sigh in hesitation to get up. Rubbing my eyes I pull myself out of bed still trying to fully wake myself up. I grab a tight fitting black v-neck shirt, black just above the knee length skirt, fishnet stockings and my black leather jacket. I put them on. It does look good but I need accessories, I grab my fingerless gloves, dangly cross earrings and my cherished silver necklace. I put my dark purpley-red doc martens on and put Smokey eyeshadow on. I stylise my shoulder length black hair and tease it till it looks gothic enough for my liking. I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth then head out of my room to see my mother, passed out on the lounge with empty beer bottles around the floor. I shake my head. "I guess I'll walk then." I mumble. I grab my black bag covered in metal band patches for the day. I grab my phone and walk out the front door. I put my headphones in blasting type o negative to loosen my thoughts on what will happen today. I'd be late on my first day as it takes 15 minutes to get to school walking, where as I was hoping my mum would drop me there or At least my dad.

(When Y/n arrives at school)

The hallways are empty and the panic starts to kick in. "Do you have a hall pass young lady?" A raspy angry female voice says from behind me. "Pardon?" I say as I turn around. It's a teacher. She looks to be a centuries or two old. "I said do you have a hall pass." She says more tensely. "Uh, I just got here." I say trying to be as polite as possible. "You're 15 minutes late." She yells. "Look I'm sorry ma'am it's my first day I don't even know where my class is." She rolls her eyes as I spoke. "Excuses, excuses. Get to class now and this must never happen again." She squeals as she walks to another classroom. "Wait, do you know where D06 is?" I say. She points to the room further down the hallway. "Thank you so much." I say. God what a bitch. I'm just trying to be nice. I walk to the room. I Knock on the door. A teacher opens the door. "Ah,
y/n? Am I right?" He says. "Uh yeah." He opens the door more and lets me into the classroom. "You can sit in the seat up the back, we are just learning about algebra, are you familiar with some of the terms?" He utters. "Don't worry if not as I'll help you out and give you stuff for your other classes at the end of the period." He says pointing to my seat. I quickly glance around the room at all the people. The what looks to be jocks stare at me in shock where as the girls gossip to their friends and cackle staring at me. My heart races. I walk to my seat looking down as I don't think I can stand much of this attention. I sit in my seat putting my bag on my desk. The teacher begins talking. I look at some of the people that are facing the front. A boy catch's my eye as he is looking at me. He quickly looks to the front once he notices I'm looking at him. His long black hair, battle vest, anthrax shirt mesmerises me. He sits next to me. I push my hair a little off my face and he looks back at me. "I like your vest." I mutter to him. He subtly checks me out then looks back at my face. "You like slayer?" He says pointing to my bag. His finger lands on the slayer logo I patched on it. "Fuck yeah." I smile. He leans his head on his hand staring at me. "I love your makeup." He says. "Wait, sorry if I'm acting weird." He flusters up and looks away from me towards the front of the classroom sitting up straight. "No, it's ok hah I never get compliments on my makeup so thanks." I stare at his long smooth hair. "Hey you should meet my friends, I think Emily will love you." He says smiling. "Who is that? Sorry I don't know anyone here besides that old prune that yelled at me for a hall pass, this teacher and you." He laughs. "She plays cello in our band." I look at him confused. "Band? Cell- WAIT! Are you guys the ones that got to the front page of the news paper because of how bad ass you were?" I say shocked. "Y/n I know it's your first day but be quiet. Hunter this is your last warning before I call your father." The teacher says. The boy next to me rolls his eyes and sits back in his seat. He waits till the teacher is faced the white board then leans to me. "Yeah that's us. Skull flower, used to be skull fucker but the teacher wouldn't allow it." He says. We lean in close to each other, we face one another. "That was total badass what you guys did. The whole mosh pit! It was so awesome, I wish I was there." I snickered. "Yeah it was amazing, Until I broke my fucking leg." He replies. "Well I'm sure it was worth it." I mutter. He smiles and nods. The bell rings for period 2. "Hey I'll see you lunch? If you want." He says as he gets up out of his chair. "I mean unless you want lunch with the dinosaur outside that wanted your hall pass." We both chuckle.

(Lunch)

I walk into the cafeteria looking around for The guy I met in class. People staring at me whispering to their friends. Someone nudges me on the shoulder. It's him. "Hey we are over here." He points to a table with 3 people. We walk over and sit down. "Dude, who is this?" Says a very basic looking girl. "This is y/n, she's new." He looks at me. "I'm hunter, this is Robbie, Kevin and Emily." He points to everyone around the table. "Nice to meet you guys." I say. "So, Y/n what kind of music do you listen to?" Kevin says. "Genres? Gothic metal, thrash metal, death metal, nu metal, glam metal, doom metal, a little 90s grunge, heavy metal and a few other genres." I answered. Hunter looks at me and clearly blushes a little. "Favourite band?" Emily says. "Depends on the genre, gothic metal probably HIM or Type o negative. Heavy metal? Maybe van halen. Thrash metal probably exodus or testament. And a lot of other bands." Hunter smirks. "So what about you guys? Any favourite bands or certain genres you love?" I add. The conversation between Kevin, Emily and I lasts the whole of lunch. We end up getting a little closer. The bell rings for the end of lunch.
