.-- .-. . -.-. -.- . .-.

No one stood near him, only the grass did. His grip tightened on a piece of paper he held. Looking up, he could see light coming. The entrance of the walls was due to open and his heart felt like it was being stabbed each minute. He bit his lips, drawing blood but he didn't care. All he cared about was for the girl he loved to come home.

Screeching makes him lift his head up. Heart racing, hope raising, and much more. He didn't see her at first so he waited. Waited until the doors fully opened; the more they opened the more his hope was leaking. It was until he was only looking down at a red wrapped lollipop that laid on the flat ground.

Tears couldn't stop falling. He couldn't take it. He was just a kid who fell in love at the wrong place. How could such a thing happen? To a poor girl who did her best to give her people what they wanted. Doing so, got her killed.

Memories of them together flashes in his mind, adding onto the sorrow. If only he was quicker. If only he had just pulled her in his arms. If only she didn't stop the young boy coming at him. But no, those things wouldn't change. In the end, the girl was meant to be killed one way or another.

The boy fell onto his knee, the paper in his hand being more crumpled up than it already was. Salty water continued to fall as the other runners came up behind him. He didn't care about their thoughts. He didn't care if everyone heard his weeps and cries. All he cared about was the (hair color) haired girl. How she would've been in his grasp by now but wasn't.

A boy, black hair and the leader of the runners, came up behind him. He rubbed his back as he also started to shed a tear. Soon, more tears fell as the other gladers started to wake up. It was a horrible sight.

"She...She" his words got caught in his throat. Slavia and everything was on his face. He didn't care. "She still hasn't given me her answer..." His words came out but only as a whisper. The other boy beside him only hummed, daring not to speak.

A big wind passed by but still nothing. Nothing at all. They all wished for the girl to return but they knew the truth. That day, everyone tried to do their jobs but just couldn't do it as well as they used to. Too sad to even think about working when someone who brought them joy had left this world without them.

A black boy, the leader of the whole place, guarded her building. He couldn't let the boy rush in there and spend days in there. It wasn't good but it was a form of copping. As days passed though, the blond boy did run towards there. "Hey hey, don't crumple it up. I wanted to keep it." a voice, a lovely voice spoke in his head. He must've gone crazy but the voice alone made him cover his mouth, shielding any noise.

He runs into the building once owned by the girl he loved and still loves. He trips on the floor. Dirt goes on his swollen face but he chose not to get up. You guys only meet for five months or maybe more. He couldn't tell. The time passed too quickly for him.

He looks at his fisted hand, slowly opening it. He unravels the paper only to see a drawing of her. It was just as beautiful as her. He knew he could never draw again. He'll only be brought to these memories of his unfated love story. Where a lost boy, in a land of other lost boys, fell in love with a fairy. That fairy loved him back. If only fairies could live longer. Not targeted by monsters out of the land of lost boys.

Days passed. The boy hasn't cried yet sadness screams in him. He felt like he lost something deep in him. Something he wished he could grab back. He knew he couldn't. The young boy just wanted a childhood like the rest. But in this world, that doesn't come by easily. You either are born in another world or dropped in a box like the rest.

One day, early in the morning, the young boy got up earlier than the rest. He tiptoed out of the land he called home. Reaching the maze entrance, he ran. He looked around, trying to find the tallest wall out there. Finding a mossy tall wall, he climbed. His body ached and he felt like giving up but he didn't. He couldn't. Every time he ate, breathed, or even talked, he knew she wasn't doing the same. It was stupid. To do this over some puppy love. But there was more. Others continued to die. He was slowly losing hope. Hope of ever getting out.

Wind clashes in his body. It was like someone was screaming 'no'. He didn't listen. He reached the top instead. The wind got stronger as he stood up at the top. No tears were shed. He looked down, the height crashing into his brain. Biting his lip, he stepped forward. Another big wind pushed him back; that didn't stop him. Closing his eyes hard.

   The boy jumped...

His leg got tangled in the vines, pain vibrating throughout his body and sending signals into his brain. He hung there for a while. The pain was coursing through his body before the vine finally gave up. It dropped him onto the ground with a loud thud. The boy could only crawl in a ball as he laid in the ground. Many emotions filled his brain only to shut down. The only thing he heard was a boy yelling his name. His vision was getting blurry before finally giving out once seeing a figure.

Next he knew, he was in the med-jacks yet no one was around him. Not even the med people. The young blond boy didn't know how he came back. He knew his savior easily but didn't bother to get up and thanked him right away. He only held his knees up to his chest in silence. Closing his eyes once again, he made a promise. A promise he hoped to fulfill.

I will find you again, my love.

He knew it was impossible. To find the dead. Or, maybe, just maybe, the young girl wasn't dead? Safe in a white room with nothing but doctors all around her. Wouldn't that be great, Newt?
