The first night was fine, Silver spent most of the night sleeping peacefully. The one time he cried you had taken care of it without too much of a loss of sleep on your part. The small little thing didn't exactly enjoy you trying to put him back down into the crib, however. He whined and sobbed until you picked him back up. You went back to bed with Silver on your chest.
He had gotten up early, the little boy giggling when he pulled on his father's hair. Lilia hadn't even batted an eye when Silver started to gently smack him awake. He stopped as soon as Lilia tapped Silver's nose. It was like turning off a clock. He giggled and did a weird baby dance as you both got ready. He had held himself up by holding onto the bed frame. You weren't sure if he was trying to jump or what but he was just bouncing around.
It was annoying to wrangle him into some clothes. He fought at every button and sleeve with a delicate fist. Though it could have been worse, and he wasn't crying. It seemed he just wanted to be a nuisance this morning. You couldn't get him to wear socks, it wasn't a huge deal you supposed, and it definitely wasn't worth the fight. He had started to scream and cry until they were off so you simply let it be.
Lilia carried him around the place. While showing you the "personal tour with the best guide," he was a little full of himself but you guessed he really wanted baby Silver to be impressed. He introduced you to some of the paintings. A few times here or there he would pass Silver over too you before dramatically flinging the doors open. The most impressive of which was when he showed you the library.
You got lost among those shelves in mear moments. You cradled Silver in your lap, he watched you trail your finger across the pages as you read to him. You spent a good portion of the day finding a small pile of 20 something books you wished to read. You were sure that this was gonna be the place you sneak off to later.
Lilia happily showed you the door to the private garden that the library lead straight into. Oh great seven how you felt like you could live there for ever. You ate together I'm that same garden. The candles and lanterns glowed orange, and you found yourself digging through your mind as you ate.
Every chew was a foot step of a undisclosed hero running through the halls of the grand castle. Her hand wrapped around the princesses wrist. The princess in her golden down, would trip down the stairs and they would have to leave the golden slipper behind. The hero in her dusty skirt and apron would continue to pull along the princesses into a maid's corridor.
While the princess was hunched over gasping for air and pulling off the other shoe, the maid would peel back the painting on the wall. The small girl in the painted garden, left too hiding amidst the realistic lilac, so the pursuers would not interrogate her. The painted girl swore herself to silence and to become a forgotten magical world. She would be able to deal with being frozen in place. Her painting was already quite small, she knew every inch of this place, so it wasn't like she had much to explore. So the now still painting was sworn to her secret, and would now listen to the maids share theirs in between tasks.
Something was missing from this story, the idea was there but there was no conflict. You couldn't think of why they were fleeing, why did they disappear through the painting, why did the maid know of its existence?
"You're face looks like your brain is on fire." Lilia spoke with a shitfaced grin. He wiped some mashed carrots off of Silver's face. "You need a some water to cool it off?"
You were ripped from the winding halls, and back in the garden. The sent of the flowers had pulled you back to the ground and held you there. The smell was a little overwhelming with all of the lilacs. Soon enough it faded into the background again and you focused on Lilia and Silver.
You all stayed there for a while. The food was something you weren't used to. It was gorgeous, and smelled perfect. You stole bites of a few things you really liked off of Lilia's plate. It was a gentle moment. The flowers that little Silver had ripped from the bushes, were tossed across Lilia's head, the petals falling across his lap.
He spun his son around in the air. The little boy laughed and giggled. "Dada!" he pulled on his father's oversized coat and climbed up into his lap.
He grabbed at the small cake. It was such a soft smooth cake, it gushed between his fingers. The frosting covered his hands and his face. His cheeks were covered with the white frosting, and it was stuck in his hair, with a dollop on his nose. He might as well had dumped his face into the cake. He looked so cute though, you had no complaints about it.
"Oh, I forgot to mention something," Lilia spoke as you cleaned Silver's hands and face. "You have a fitting later today."
"A fitting?"
