I was supposed to post this last chapter the day I posted the previous chapter but, life happened so plans got ruined :)

Anyway, I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you for giving this story a try. I appreciate it so much. I got to be honest, this is not a best of work of mine but I did try my best to give an ending worth a shot. There were struggles for this short story along the way and certain ideas clashed to the point that, I almost not able to finish it and I needed to drag myself to the finish line.

But hey, a progress is a progress, right?

Once again, thank you for giving my take of a modern AU for Anthony Bridgerton a chance ❤

Anthony's soul returned to his earth body when a blinding sunlight hit his vision that caused him to groan and open his right eye. His mind was a little out of place but when he saw that he was in a foreign room, everything just found its places.

A smirk got written on his face upon glancing at the left side of the bed where Julienne's signature perfume was absorbed by her pillows. Last night was definitely a magical night to celebrate an unfamiliar emotion and until now, he can't seem to believe that it did really happen.

Perhaps it was just a dream?

That cannot be, his mind fed him. He could narrate every tiny detail of last night especially to how he kissed her with all his passion that he didn't know he was capable to do. It didn't also happen to him to paint a beautiful smile on his lips just because of the emotion and not just because he was able to release the steam he craved for.

His already dried clothes also caught his attention which was neatly folded on her side of the bed. The nice gesture told Anthony that the Lady was awake for some time now to do his laundry for him so he could have something to wear especially that, there was no presence of male species in the lovely home.

He found the safe haven in her bedroom not just because of her scent but also because, he could feel his presence despite of her absence. Anthony wore his clothes immediately after a short visit in her bathroom and when satisfied, he looked for the woman he wanted to see first thing in the morning.

And there, in the kitchen with her favorite coffee even it was already 10 in the morning, he found her in her confused thoughts.

"Julienne?" He muttered carefully but despite of the gentleness just like how he held her last night, she seemed to be in a deep thought for her to get startled with his calling. "Apologies! I didn't mean to startle you."

She shook her head when she recovered from her confusion as she noticed that he stopped from approaching her and drew a respectable distance away from her.

"I'm sure your mother is already looking for you. You didn't go home last night." She whispered without looking at his eyes.

Anthony knitted his eyebrows and chose to hide his own confusions to himself as he replied in a calm tone, "I'm perfectly capable to take care of myself. I'm in the right age besides, not the first time I was not home the entire night."

"Of course..." She answered immediately, the little smile and the arched eyebrows expressed her amusement. "Not the first time, of course..." The intention was just to murmur to herself but somehow, she wanted him to hear her sarcasm.

"Julienne, if this is about last night —"

"What about it?" She grew the confidence to reply and looked into his eyes as she noticed that his short-temper was being consumed. "Nothing special happened last night, Anthony. I don't know what you are talking about."
