background info - you are engaged to scarlett and she's letting you meet rose for the first time.

you are going over to Scarlett's house to meet rose for the first time who knew meeting a 7 year old would have you so nervous.
you put on jeans and a baggy white top with a black blazer and white doc martins.
you have never been so nervous to meet anyone in your life. you knew if rose didn't like you there would be a problem, because you weren't going to let rose and scarlett's relationship be effected by you being there and scarlett knew this and agreed.
you walked through the door to Scarlett's house and rose immediately bust into tears
rose "get out!!"
rose "i don't like you get out get out!!"
you turned around and immediately left respecting the girls request. you walked back to your car and sat for a minute trying to figure out the best thing to do, when scarlett came out
you wound down the widow
y/n "hi.."
scarlett "well that could've went better."
y/n "you think.. she took on look at me and cried. that's gonna hurt my confidence"
scarlett "she said she got scared.. she wants to try again."
y/n "she's not going to cry?"
scarlett "she said she wouldn't scream or cry at you."
you got out of the car and walked in behind scarlett, admittedly it made you sad that you could possibly be ending this relationship.
you walked back in and sat on the sofa, rose came out with scarlett
she hide behind scarlett, she sat the furthest away from you.

time skip..

it's been a few months and you and rose avoid each other at all costs, your relationship has be come very strained as well as Scarlett. she is very stressed as well as working. you had made the decision to call it quits to hopefully help Scarlett.

you where on your way to meet her at her house, sobbing in the car, you loved Scarlett so much. you only wanted what was best for her, which is why you where doing this awful thing, so she could get back on track with her daughter and working.
you pulled up at her house and took a shakey deep breathe and walked into her house.
she sent rose upstairs, sensing the importance of this conversation.
Scarlett "hey rose go play upstairs please?"
rose rubs off upstairs and plays with her toys
scarlett "i think i know what this is."
y/n "yeh."
scarlett "we can work on it, she will adjust"
y/n "she shouldn't have to scar, yours and her relationship is strained and so is ours, your stressed to bits scar it's not fair"
scar sighs trying to hold back tears
y/n "scar baby i'm going to give you this.. i hope you find someone rose thinks of as worthy, i don't want to damage your relationship anymore. i'm going to kiss you on the cheek and give you the ring back and leave quietly, i don't want to fight about this. i'm alway a friend of you need me okay?"
scar nods
you kiss her cheek and you hand her your engagement ring and leave quietly.

roses pov
after y/n leaves i go to find my mommy,  but as soon as i go downstairs o hear her crying but when she sees me she smiles and starts cooking me some food .
scar "hey rosey roo,  what you want for dinner?"
rose "mac and cheese?"
scar "sure.."
rose "can i ask you something"
i say as she lifts me onto the counter
scar "anything my dear."
rose "why are you sad? where y/n she makes you feel better."
scar "you aren't going to see y/n anymore, things just didn't work out."
rose "why? she always made you smile and now yo don't smile"
scar "well me adding someone new into our lives didn't work, it was difficult for the both of us and she didn't want us to fall out so she left.."
rose "ohh.."
i know y/n left because we weren't getting along, when i told my mommy this she insisted it wasn't my fault.

time jump
it's been a few weeks
roses pov
mommy is really really sad, she doesn't go to work anymore and i got to stay with my grandma, i come home and mommy is crying and when i leave she's crying as well.. i feel really bad. i chose not to like y/n because i was being selfish, my mommy was happy and laughing, but now she's sad and it's my fault.
i grab my mommy's phone and call y/n she instantly answers

rose "y/n??"
y/n "rose is everything okay?"
rose "im sorry i made you and mommy break up. i really do like you. i promise, you made my mommy smile and you made her laugh. now all she does is cry, she doesn't even go to work.. please come and fix it!! make her smile again!! pleasee!!"
y/n "alright rose breath, go get some water and sit in the living room and give the phone to your mommy."
