Shigure's Mission

The Visit

It had a pleasant day for the students of Kaibara High. The sky was blue and relatively clear, save for the odd candy floss cloud, and the sun was shining, bathing the interior and exterior of the building with soft light. It always during the winter months that Tohru, Arisa Uotani and Hanajima Sake liked to take their time walking up the hill and up staircase that led to Tohru's house. Arisa Uotani and Hanajima Sake were visiting Tohru at Shigure's house on the hill. They always made sure that she got home safe and sound. "Shigure." Tohru called out as she walked into the house. She never heard a reply so they slipped off their shoes and got on slippers. "Go up to my room, I will be up in a second." Tohru said as she watched them go upstairs. Tohru turned the corner and accidentally bumped into Shigure who in a puff of green smoke turned into a black dog with grey eyes. He was the Dog of the Chinese Zodiac after all and one of the oldest members of the Cursed Sohmas. Shigure is best friends with Ayame Sohma and Hatori Sohma, and the three were referred to as 'The Three Musketeers'. "I'm so sorry, Shigure!" She exclaimed as she sank to the floor besides him. "Uo-chan and Hana are upstairs in my room. They came for a surprise visit." She said, bowing to him, her head was placed onto the floor. "Oh Tohru!" Shigure said as he used his nose to lift her head off the floor. "I promise to stay out of sight and in my room." Shigure said as he turned to leave. "Wait, Shigure." Tohru said as she turned and hugged the dog. "After they both leave, Shigure I want to share something really important with you." She said as she leaned in and kissed the dog gently on the top of his head. "What is it, T-Toh-Tohru?" He stuttered out looking at the young woman in front of him. "It's a surprise." She said as she left him and went upstairs. She went into her bedroom and got changed out of her school uniform and into her night time clothes. The pigtailed girl was dressed in an adorable plain pink dress and her pink and blue ribbons, adorned in her long brunette hair. She looked cute as always. She had been a delightful addition to the Sohma household, especially when the other members were lazy, messy, argumentative boy or even a man as presented in Shigure's case. Although according to Yuki and Kyo, he was the worst of them all, and a perverted novelist to boot. "Yuki and Carrot-top aren't home yet?" Arisa asked Tohru. "Yuki is taking care of Student Council business and Kyo is on a date with Kagura." Torhu explained to them. "Where is the novelist?" Hanajima questioned Tohru. "Shigure is downstairs working on his next novel, his poor editor is on the verge of suicide if he doesn't complete it by the deadline." Tohru explained to them sadly. 'Mom, I hope your not mad at me for choosing Shigure's house with Kyo and Yuki over Grandpa's home. It just wasn't a right match for me. I wonder if you'd be mad at me.' Tohru thought to herself spacing out before being broken out of her trance by Arisa. "Is something wrong, Tohru?" Arisa asked her as he looked her friend concerned. "Yeah, but I will be fine. It's just that I was thinking about how mom would react to me living with a bunch of guys." Tohru said softly. "Kyoko would probably interrogate them separately about their intentions for you before getting them together and beating them to a pulp." Arisa said as she looked at Tohru who was scared but also smiling at the though. "Yeah, your totally right." She exclaimed. As the time passed, the three of them hung out together, gossiping, studying and talking about everything that was going on in their separate lives. Soon the sun was beginning to set when they decided to go home. "Goodbye Hana and Uo-chan. Be safe." She called out as she watched them leave from the doorway of the house. Shigure had transformed back and was indeed working in his room on completing his next novel for his editor with his bedroom door open. When he finally looked up from writing, he smiled softly as he watched Tohru's friends say their goodbyes and leave walking down the large staircase. When Tohru finally had seen them off, Momiji, Kisa, Hatsuharu, Rin, Hiro, Ayame, and Hatori came over and sat in the living room. Tohru then got up and went into the kitchen and began working on what to prepare for dinner. Tohru Honda was humming a mindless tune as she skipped around the kitchen. Shigure Sohma, came into the living room from his own and began watching his most 'delicate flower' as she fluttered around the kitchen. 'I wonder what to make for dinner. What would they appreciate?' Tohru thought to herself, opening the fridge, taking out ingredients, placing pots and pans on the countertop. It was at that point that Yuki and Kyo entered the house. She immediately went over blushing and met them at the door. "Welcome Home!" She said as she turned and greeted them happily. "Rice and Curry!" She exclaimed backing away from him clattering pots and pans loudly. "Let's have Rice and Curry for dinner! I think we have the ingredients..." She said as she went back into the kitchen and began preparing their meal. Shigure continued to smirk, as he went and sat down in the living room. He was faced toward the kitchen watching the highly entertaining and adorable spectacle that was Tohru. She was flustered and very embarrassed which made her handle the cooking utensils with more force than was necessary. 'How precious, she is!' Shigure thought to himself.
