I woke up earlier today than the usual. I feel light and giddy, and I don't know why. I immediately took a bath and went downstairs to find my Nan awake already.
"Oh, Jules, you're already up. You're going somewhere early today?"
"Supposedly, I'd still be snoring."
"But?" She asked curiously.
"I woke up being excited for some unknown reason." I answered honestly.
My nanny suddenly smiled - a teasing one and mumbled "maybe it's because of the boy."
"A boy?" I asked, confused.
"Did you really woke up early, or you haven't gotten any sleep at all?"
I stared at her for a moment, confused with what she's saying.
"It's the kiss, isn't it?" She said with that teasing smile again.
Honey macaroni. Rome.
"I think I need to take some walk."
"If you say so." She turned around and I did the same, and as I was starting to walk away from the kitchen she asked, "What do you want for breakfast, pizza or something sweet?"
I turned back around, thinking my nanny's getting insane.
"Oh, you want both, don't you? You can have those both with that boy."
She winked and walked away leaving me dumbfounded.

It's been a week since I started working at the Cross Empire, and I think I've adjusted pretty soon than I expected. During breaks, I've got the chance to talk to the other employees. I even join them during lunch, together with Jason and a few of his colleagues. They are fun to be with, especially Clint, Josh and Tina.
Clint is Jason's new office buddy. They belong to the same department, shares the same interests and acts like they've known each other for a very long time. Tina is his girlfriend, and she belongs to the advertising department. We seldom see her inside the office but we hang out together at lunch so we've gotten really close then. Josh is a part time filer in the office. He's two years younger than me, and at the end of the summer, he'll be dropping the job he had started to love to continue on studying. He's been like a brother to me, a brother I longed to have.
Today, I am working with the bookkeeper, and thank goodness she's not wearing rolled in mud paint bright clothes like she does every day. It would really distract me if she did. We've been together in her table for almost five hours now. We worked non-stop – except for lunch break, and I hope we could finish this soon enough for me to get home early. I sighed as I thought about what nanny would be serving for dinner. I'm craving for pasta right now. I should ring home right after this.
"Juliet, are you listening?" Miss Tess asked, which woke me up from my trance on tonight's dinner.
"Yes, of course." She looked at me suspiciously, and continued talking about the ledger and stuff.
After half an hour, we were finally thru the re-checking of financial statements. I walked back to my office, and on my way there, I heard hushing voices coming from one of the meeting rooms along the hallway, and I think I've heard my name. I know curiosity killed the cat, but since I'm not afraid of dying, I approached the door and tried to listen what's the nattering all about.
"No, you've got to be kidding me, man."
"It's not the time to kid around, you know." I recognize that voice. Is it Duke?
