We were both young when I first saw you

I close my eyes and the flashback starts

I'm standing there, in a balcony in summer air

Today's my first day at the Cross Empire. I've been preparing myself for two hours now. No, I'm not nervous, that's why. Liar.

Okay, I'm nervous and excited and I don't know. My heart's filled with mixed emotions. What if I'd do something wrong today? What if they won't like me? What if I forget the tips Mike told me? What if--

Okay, enough with the 'what if's' Jules. I woke up at 4:30 in the morning, which is earlier. But not too early, right? Office starts at 8, but I'm up since 4:30. What I did? Well, just laid on my bed for an hour or so and thought of the possible events that might happen on my first day. I'm really really nervous, that's why. I know, I'm overthinking but being the heirress means a lot and I'm pressured because of that.

After an hour of lying down, when I saw the hands of the clock point at 5:30, I rose and went to take a bath immediately. I spent almost an hour scrubbing and pouring myself with the sweet smell of strawberries, and spent another hour changing from one clothing to another. Actually, until now I haven't decided on what to wear. I'm standing infont of the mirror right now and checking out myself and finding out if what I'm wearing's too revealing, too intimidating, too slutty or what--

"Juliet, are you up? Your father's waiting for you downstairs already, asking if you're ready for office." That was my nanny speaking.

"Yes, nan. Please prepare me some sandwich, I'll take it to the office as my breakfast." I shouted from my walk-in closet. I hope she heard me.

"Okay, sweety. Don't take too long."

"Uhuh!" Okay, whatever. This one's final. I took one more glance from the mirror and made my way outside my closet and to the bed to pick up my channel envelope sling bag with only my wallet and phone in it. Do I need to bring something else? Hmm.

"Good morning, dad." I greeted my father when I saw him seated on his usual seat at the dining hall, wearing his typical attire for office. He just nodded in response and stood up. When he passed by me, he told me he'd wait in the car outside.

That'd be too sweet for a father to wait for his daughter to give her a ride for others, but for us -- it's not. My father is the most strict and cold kind of father I've met in my entire life. He allows me to have a ride with him simply because he thinks I might ditch my first day in work if I'd go on my own. He don't even trust his drivers to give me the ride. He thinks that since I'm friends with them, they'd tolerate me. I'm 21, but I still don't have my own car like Minnie and Katherine. They're so lucky to have loving parents unlike me.

"Here's your sandwich, Jules." Esmeralda, my nanny, handed the wrapped sandwich to me with a smile. She's the sweetest.

"Thanks, nan. I gotta go! See you later." I told her and gave her a peck in the cheek, and ran off the kitchen.

"Stay safe!" She added.

I ran as fast as I could towards the door and when I opened it I was surprised to see him in our house as early as this time.

"What are you doing here?" I said with wonder. Jason's standing in our porch talking to my father.

"Picking you up, I guess?" He said with a smirk. I tried to glare at him. How could he act so cool towards me infront of my father?

"Since this boy's giving you a ride, then I've got to go." My dad said to me. I was too shocked to response and just watched him go to his car and before he gets inside he added, "Take care of her. See you later."
