The faint sound of pans and plate clinking together could be heard from the kitchen as Bucky sat in the living room, boxes scattered across the room of the ones he had yet to unpack. But he found one that caught his eye while he was moving the others, when he opened it he was pleasantly surprised at the contents of the box.

Bucky sniffled back a tear as he looked through his photo album of all the memories, he had not only made with you but with Steve from the 40s. He smiled as a tear ran down his face, falling from his cheek to the old polaroid picture he was holding. It was a picture of you, Bucky, and Steve all standing together at the Stark expo, smiles plastered on all of your faces as you looked on in wonder.

Bucky quickly wiped his face free of any evidence he had been crying when he heard foot steps coming down the hall way." Hey babe foods ready." Bucky nodded but kept his head down cast." Bucky?" A gentle hand touched his shoulder making Bucky look up at the person." Baby why are you crying?" You asked, concern lining your words. Bucky shrugged and smiled up at you." Happy memories. That's all." You looked past him to the photo album that sat on his lap." Reliving the past?" You asked as you sat down next to him." I'm trying to." You giggled and picked up the picture Bucky had previously had." I remember this, that was a fun day." You smiled at the fond memory." And this one, Steve was burned to a crisp after that trip." You said pointing to a picture of all of you at the beach." Yeah he was." Bucky chuckled." And this." You stopped for a moment, your hand resting on a picture of yours and Bucky's wedding day. It might have been years ago but it still felt just like yesterday.

" I can't believe after seventy years this picture is still around." You laughed in amazement." I'm surprised after seventy years you still wanted me." Bucky told you. You looked up at him, a smirk on your face as you did." I would have been crazy to leave you. You're perfect. You were perfect then and you're perfect now." You told him, setting down the picture and placing a hand on Bucky's face. He leaned into your touch and smiled." What did I do to deserve you?" He asked as his hand slowly snuck around your waist." So much." You whispered as he pulled you closer." We've both done things were not proud of. You were an assassin, and I was a spy, but our past doesn't define us. And I would have you either way." Bucky moved you so you were seated on his lap, after he head moved the picture album to the empty seat near both of you." Some things aren't the same as they were, like this." You said as you ran your hand down the shiny metal of Bucky's arm." Or this." You said as you took his hand and ran it down the scar on the side of your neck, where you had been shot years ago by a hydra soldier, who ended up taking you back to hydra where they made you into a spy for them." But we still have each other, and that's the same." Bucky nodded and smiled." And I couldn't be happier for that."

Bucky pulled you closer by placing his metal hand against your back, you gladly leaned into his touch and draped your arms around his neck, resting your forehead against his. Bucky's lips brushed against yours, sending a chill down your spine as he did so." In this world it's just us, no one can take that away from me." Bucky whisper against your lips. Before you could answer he press his mouth to yours, his sweet taste entering into your mouth as he kissed you. You sighed against him as your body molded against his perfectly. It brought back some sort of memory for you, being pressed up against him like that lit you up inside. You pulled apart from each other, gasping for a breath as you looked down at him." Dinner is going to get cold." You told Bucky, gaining a groan from him. You giggled and pecked his lips once more before getting off of his lap.

During dinner you both got lost in conversation about the good old days, before hydra, before you knew all the pain the both of you would go through, and before you both knew what an amazing life the two of you would have someday. It all made sense in the end why you both were caught by hydra all those years ago. Some people are destined to be together, and no space of time or stretch of land can keep soulmates from one day finding each other again. You could say that from personal experience. You were taken three years after Bucky's tragic accident. He had already been put through his brainwashing when you found out he was alive. As for you, your treatment began the day you found him. You both worked side by side for seventy years not knowing you were once a happily married couple. As the years stretched on you were both thrown around the world for missions, never thinking one day you would be free. After Bucky was found by Steve and set free of his charges, he stopped at nothing to try and find you. You were his everything, and just from the few memories he had regained of the life the two of you once had it drove him forward to find you, which with much patience he did.

Rehab for both of you was slow, but after your first memories of being with Bucky came back no one could separate the two of you. You were married after all so no one could tell you otherwise. And life seemed to go on from there. You and Bucky bought a house away from the city, somewhere quiet for the two of you, with room for more the day you both decided to expand your family.

And every day you woke up knowing, it's not the same as it was.
