Nora
You know, when your parents are professional criminals you'd think by now you'd get used to the crazy shit but it's like you never really get accustomed to it. I stopped caring about the things this life comes with a long time ago and I feel like it pisses my parents off a little too much. My mom especially.
I have two older brothers that are getting ready to take over for my father well I just stay off to the side. What I want is never really valued around here. I've sort of accepted my fate a long time ago. I wanted originally go to fashion school and become a designer but that idea was quickly shot down by my parents, more so my mom
My parents will probably just marry me off to some wealthy businessman that I can become a trophy wife for. In all honesty though, I don't think I would mind.
Like I know it sounds bad but if he can leave me alone and I stay out of his way will that really be all that bad? Like a roommate but you sleep in the same bed or not, maybe you sleep in different rooms. would that be so bad? personally for me I don't think so. I mean its not exactly my dream but it's also not the worst option either. Unless he abusive then that's really when I'll have to ki-
"Nora, where are you?" I heard my mom call out for me.
"I'm in my room!" I shouted back. I sat up on my bed and she opened the door before shutting it and taking a seat on the foot of my bed. I put down the book I was reading and she look at me with a big smile.
"I want you to get ready and put the nicest dress you have. We are going to be having dinner with one of the wealthiest, handsome man in the underworld! Go get ready, dinner will start in 2 hours." She excitedly squealed but I just look at her like she was a dummy. Now don't get me wrong, I love my mother but sometimes she was a little slow if you know what I mean. She's one of those most that try to get their daughters so be hyper-feminine and super girly girl and although i was pretty feminine, she is way too pushy with it. Like at the age of 14, her birthday gift to me was a trip to the plastic surgeons to see what I wanted "fixed"...
"What does that have to do with me?" I blankly stared are her.
"Everything! Everything sweetheart. He looking to marry and you need to be suitable for him. He might choose you and you could get married and have his children."
"I really don't care." I shook my head and her smile faltered.
"Why not? It's Luciano Castello for God sake!" She shouted.
"Now I'm definitely not interested" I laughed and picked up my book. Luciano Castello has to be the worst man when it comes to dealing with women. He's a gruar as they say in Albanian. He's a player who uses woman. I would hate to have to marry him but I'm sure there's nothing to worry about, I'm positive he'll choose a girl that wants him.
"Why don't you ever take anything seriously? Is it because your father and I won't let you go to school?" She asked.
"You took away the one dream I had and practically told me I was only good for becoming a wife and baby making, of course that's why." I shrugged and opened my book up to the page I was on. She started going off about how I didn't need school and how I was better off without it because I'm too pretty and my looks could get me so much further. I've learned a long time ago that you should just let her run her mouth. She'll eventually get tired and walk away. After yelling for 10 or so minutes she stormed out of my room and I could finally get back to reading my book in peace.

Against my better judgement I decided I would get really for dinner instead of staying in my room. I finished the last touches of my makeup and put on a red satin dress designed by yours truly.
"Nora! I hope you're ready because if I come in-"
My mother looked at me speechless. Her eyes began to tear and I rolled my eyes are her dramatics.
"You looking amazing, sweetheart." She smiled
"Thank you, mom." I smiled back and she offered to help me put on my jewelry and I accepted.
"You look so beautiful honey." I smiled at her through the mirror. Once we finished, my mother and I went downstairs and heard laughter coming from the living room. I was really dreading meeting this man but it was better to get it over and done with. We approached the living room and saw five men chatting before looking at us. My father and two brothers looked down at my dress and almost like on que all frowned showing their disapproval of it.
"Vincent, you know my wife, Adriel." My father introduced her.
"Of course, how could I forget. How are you?" As they chatted for a bit I felt eyes boring into my skin. I look to my left and seen Luciano staring at my like he's never seen a woman before. I roll my eyes and my father introduces me.
"This is my only daughter Nora, Nora this is Vincent and Luciano Castello." He proudly smiled as if he accomplished the best thing in the world.
"It's nice to meet you both." I pursed my lips and shook both of their hands. Luciano held my hand a little longer than I liked so I pulled it back so he would let go.
"You should smile more." The senior slyly said and I only looked at him with a blank facial expression.
"Dinners ready, how about we all take a seat a the dining table, huh?" My mom urges everyone on and we all head to the dining room. I still felt Luciano's uncomfortable gaze on me but i ignored him.
