Nora

Tonight is our engagement party and I'm sitting in a chair with about 20 people pulling and touching at me.

Can't lie and say I loved it because I don't and the girl who's doing my eye makeup is literally poking my eyeballs.

"Can we just take a break for five minutes?" I asked.

"No!"

"Of course." Mum and Luna said at the same time.

"She has to finish getting.." as they proceed to argue I just stood up and walked out of the room.

Still in my robe and slippers I went down to the garden and sat on one of the
benches watching the sun go down.

My body relaxed unknowingly and I felt at peace and mesmerized by the sunset. So stuck on the sunset, I hadn't even realized someone was watching me.

"You're not getting your hair and makeup done? Why?" Luciano questioned standing against the door in a white tee shirt and black trousers.

"Just needed a break." I shrugged.

"Can I sit?" I nodded and he took the seat next to me. He slouched back and spread his legs open before he put his arm over the back of the bench.

"I take it you like sunsets?" I nodded with a little smile on my face, looking back out at the sunset.

"Growing up, I used to sit in my brother's room and watch it until it was gone. It always made me feel at peace looking at all the pretty colours that one creates. I like that it gives me peace and tranquillity, especially because there's no such thing as peace for people like us." I said referring to the underworld.

"Do you still watch the sunset?" He asked.

"I try to as much as I can but all this wedding stuff just makes me tired, so I often forget about it." I shrugged turned to him. His eyes bore into mine and I could help but be hypnotized by the honey brown pools.

"You look very beautiful." He whispered quietly, making my cheeks heat up.

"Thank you." I smiled as we stared at each other. Our faces grew closer and closer and I could feel his minty, cool breath on my lips.

"Just kiss already." I heard someone behind me say and we both pulled away and Luciano cleared his throat. I turned around a saw Giovanni and Luna standing there with grins on their faces. Despite the makeup on my face I just knew I was completely red.

"We have to get your makeup finished." Luna waved me over.

"Right." I cleared my throat before getting up. Luciano got up as well and we all went back inside.

"I'll see you later, beautiful." Luciano whispered into my ear before lightly kissing my temple. I smiled and watched as he walked away with Giovanni, disappearing around the corner.

I turned to Luna and she was looking at me with a little smirk. I gave her a questioning look and she just shrugged as we went back to the room

"Ohh you look so beautiful, i dashur." My mom squealed, hugging me and I smiled at her.

"Thanks mom." She pulled away and went on and on about how everyone would be so pleased to see me marry Luciano.

"Ready?" I give her a slight nod and put my shoes.

"Everyone out!" Luna demanded and makeup and hair left in a hurry. I started to really feel the pressure and felt nervous.

"Don't worry, everything is going to go smoothly." She smiled.

"Thank you for everything you've done to help me with all this." I smiled at her back.

"Of course, Tesoro. You're like the daughter I never had." Her eyes sparkled and I gave her a tight hug.

I put on my heels and got sent down stairs to the car. Everything was pretty chaotic and I was really nervous but I still wanted to enjoy myself tonight. I know I never wanted to marry or not this early at least but I should get to be happy too, no? I just hope nothing goes wrong of anything like that.
