Hailey's POV

Good morning sunshine blared from my iPhone as I rose from bed. I couldn't wait for today, it was going to be so much fun. As I searched my closet I succeeded in finding a light pink lace top and my favorite pair of bedazzled jeans. I decided to pair them with matching pink Toms. I proceeded to curl my hair and apply some casual makeup. By the time I was done perfecting my look it was already 10! Dan and Phil's flat was only a 15 minute walk, so I got some breakfast at Starbucks while I was on my way there.

. . .

"Hailey! You're finally here!" Phil said as he greeted my at the door. "You know I'm always late," I said with a grin on my face. Phil led me through his flat to the living room. I saw Dan lounging on the couch, and couldn't believe how lucky I was to be friends with him. As he heard me and Phil coming he stood up and gave me a hug. I was so much shorter than him and only came to just below his shoulder. "I haven't seen you in so long! I missed you." Dan sweetly said. "I missed you too, Dan!" I replied, probably a bit more enthusiastically than I should have. We went to take a seat in the living room, where I tripped over my own foot almost falling on my face. I mentally prayed that Dan hadn't seen, but when I turned around to check I could tell he was trying really hard not to laugh. My face turned the deepest shade of red. Why was I being so awkward? I'm usually really calm around guys I like, but Dan was different than other guys. There was something about him that brings out the quirky side in me. The thing is, I think I like it. Later on, we decided to watch a movie. Phil inserted Paranormal Activity 2 into the DVD player. The movie hadn't even started yet and my heart was racing. I've always loved scary movies, but I got so terrified. When I screamed Dan put his arm around me, and I snuggled up to him.

. . .

"Thanks for protecting me," I said into Dan's chest as the movie was finally over. "No problem," Dan replied with a grin. "Guys, I'm gonna go. I promised PJ I'd help him with a video and I'm late," Phil said. I don't know if it was just me but his sentence seemed a little staged. Phil scurried out the door leaving Dan and I to ourselves. "Are you hungry?" Dan asked, breaking the silence. "Yea. What did you have in mind?" I inquired. "I make pretty fit pancakes!" Dan exclaimed. His excitement made me giggle.

We finished the pancakes, and I helped Dan clean up. "I had fun today," I told Dan as I loaded the plates into the dishwasher. "Me too. You know the movie Warm Bodies?" Dan questioned. I looked up into his eyes. If this is going where I think it's going, I might scream. "Yea. Have you seen it yet?" I replied trying to remain calm. "No, I was wondering if you might want to go see it with me," he mumbled. "Yea, I'd love too," I replied grinning from ear to ear. This couldn't be happening! I've known Dan for two years and he was finally asking me out! "I'll pick you up tommorow at 6," Dan said. He walked me to the door and we said our goodbyes. I didn't want to leave: I never wanted to leave his side. As I walked back to my flat I couldn't help but picture Dan in my mind. His eyes sparkled like no one I've ever met before. He was literally perfect. Tommorow was going to be a good day.

Sorry this took me so long to write. I got lazy, the Take Me Home tour started, the One Way Or Another music video was realeased, and Dan hit 1 million subscribers. I couldn't function.

I'll never forget you. I promise. (Dan Howell Love Story)Where stories live. Discover now
