"No sex in the backseat, please." Ashton mimicked as we walked up the sidewalk to his house. I held my stomach as I cried with laughter.
"He was completely serious too!" I slapped Ashton on the shoulder as I continued to laugh.
He unlocked the door to his house and I followed him into his kitchen, the two of us still laughing.
"He obviously underestimates me," Ashton scoffed as he opened up a cupboard and pulled out a couple bags of chips.
"What do you mean?" I asked as I played with a ring on my finger.
"Obviously," he started as he whipped his head towards me dramatically, "if I was going to have sex with you it'd be in a less germ filled place! You could get diseases in that nasty ass taxi."
I stopped playing with the ring on my finger and looked up him. My cheeks reddened as a smile grew on his face.
"You can get diseases simply by having sex with someone, dipwad." I retorted.
"You're funny Molly Stevens, you know that?" He laughed as he grabbed some pop out of the refrigerator.
"That's why I won Class Clown in high school."
"Are you serious?" He asked as he handed me all of the pop, I accidentally dropped one on the floor. "We'll just give that one to Luke."
"One, I was being sarcastic. Two, that's mean!" I followed him down the stairs into his basement, or shall I say room. They were basically the same thing.
"Luke's a man..." He let his sentence trail off as he thought about it a bit longer. "Okay, well he's more like a man baby."
"Man baby?"
He smiled at me as he set the chips down on the coffee table.
"He's a giant man baby, correct Mols." He came over and ruffled my hair.
I rolled my eyes as I set the drinks on the coffee table.
"When are the guys coming?" I asked as I plopped down onto the worn and tattered, blue sofa.
"Like fifteen minutes. Wanna play a game?" Ashton asked excitedly.
I raised an eyebrow at him.
"What kind of game are you speaking of?"
He looked over at the wall that had shelves of board games on it and pulled out a white box.
"We're playing Twister."
"No we're not."
"Get off your lazy ass or I will track down that taxi and make you lick the backseat." He said as he towered over me.
"Ashton!" I whined as I slowly got up. He opened the box and threw the top behind him.
"Mmmm, gettin' physical." He tried to sing but ended up erupting into a fit of giggles.
"You're so weird." I sighed, spinning the arrow. "Right foot, red."
"Left foot, green." He said as we both simultaneously put our feet down on a green space.
"Right hand, yellow."
His ass was in my face.
"I swear if you-"
"Eat my ass." He giggled. He lost his balance and fell backwards into me, knocking me over.
"I hate playing games with you." I scoffed. He was laying across me and was hyperventilating because he was laughing so much. "Plus, I'm pretty sure you need more that two people."
"You're such a party pooper." He whined and repositioned his body so that we were lying face to face.
"Lo siento que yo sea una aguafiesta." I sighed as I rolled my eyes. Ashton was still on top of me and his face was dangerously close to my face.
"Bilingual is so sexy.." I heard him mumble under his breath as he leaned in towards me. His green eyes flicked between my eyes and my lips as a grin grew on his face.
His lips were just about to brush mine when someone's cell phone started going off.
"Is that yours?" He asked as he pushed himself off of me with a frown on his face.
"I think so." I reached in my back pocket and checked Caller ID.
Dad.
My dad hadn't called me in three weeks. I quickly unlocked my phone and answered the call.
"Dad?" My voiced squeaked instead of coming out normally.
"Hey honey," I could envision his smile in my head.
"You haven't called in so long." I looked over at Ashton who was giving me a weird look from his new spot on the couch.
"I know Molly and I'm sorry. I've had to go off the grid for a while. We just closed the case so that's why I'm able to call you. I have news. "
My breath hitched in my throat.
He better be coming home.
"I get a break in a couple of weeks for Christmas. I'll get to spend some time with my favorite girl." His voice was shaky at the other end. My father very rarely ever got emotional, but he did have his moments.
"I have to go sweetie."
"Don't cry Dad, I'll see you very soon. I love you." I smiled as I said these words.
"Bye Mol, I love you more than anything." He ended the call and I set my phone on the floor next to me.
"I don't mean to pry but is your dad in prison or something?" Ashton asked.
I leaned back on my hands and sprawled my legs out in front of me. A huge smile was plastered on my face.
"Something like that."
