Now how the hell was I supposed to get this dumb coat back to him?
I dropped the toilet paper and bags of McDonald's on my kitchen counter.
"Richard!" I yelled as I banged on the wall.
"You don't even have to call me, I knew you were home." He said as he walked through my front door.
Richard was in his upper forties and he had a blonde beard and mustache. He was very muscular because, well, he was my bodyguard. My dad is the FBI's top detective and he's busted a bunch of the Top Ten Most Wanted Criminals. Growing up I never had a bodyguard, I always had my mother to take care of me. She died in a car accident when I was seven. My dad had a nanny, Winnie, take care of me since he was never home. Richard became a larger part of my life when I was ten. At ten years old, I was kidnapped by vengeful friends of criminals that my dad had busted previously. Richard was my dad's partner and so my dad made him my full time caretaker. I've been through a lot with Richard, I know him better than I know my own father.
"Where'd that jacket come from?" Rick asked as he stuffed a fry in his mouth.
I glanced down at Ashton's jacket.
"A friend." I panicked.
"That's funny because I'm your only friend." He laughed as he slapped his knee.
I pulled a roll of toilet paper out of the pack and chucked it at him.
"See that? Use it to wipe up your fat ego and then shove it so far up your ass that your eyes pop out." I snapped. He simply chuckled at me and stood up, grabbing his bag of food.
"I don't know why your dad wants me to protect you, you seem to have it covered." He raised his eyebrows at me.
"That coat belongs to Ashton Irwin, the boy you had googly eyes on in the store."
"I did not have googly eyes on him!" I groaned as I swatted at his shoulder.
"He's clear, so you're safe." He chuckled as he stuffed another fry in his mouth. Rick had background checked every person I came in contact with so it wasn't news to me that he knew all about him.
"Nice bra by the way," He added as he got up.
"I hate you."
"Feelings are mutual and I got my eyes on your apartment." He said before he was gone.
"I know, you always do." I sighed, I walked over to the only picture I had of my dad and I. It was from when I was 10, two weeks before I was kidnapped. My dad had come home for a week because it was my birthday and he had a break in his case at the time.
I haven't seen my dad in two years and I miss him, a lot. It gets pretty lonely when the only person you talk to is Rick. Don't get me wrong he's a cool guy and all it just gets pretty annoying when all he talks about is fight tactics and the amount of times he got laid in high school.
I pulled my phone out of my pocket and dialed his current burner cell's number. Four rings and the line went dead.
I sighed and sat down on my couch, stuffing my phone into my pocket. My fingers closed around a small piece of paper and I pulled it out.
"Luke's new cell" was scribbled in the small slip and below it was a phone number.
This is how I was supposed to get the coat back. I pulled my phone back out of my pocket and dialed the number.
What if he didn't know Ashton? Just as I was about to pull the phone away from my ear, a muffled voice said hello.
"Hello?" I asked, not sure if I had heard myself correctly.
"Yeah, hello? Who is this?" The boy, Luke I assume, asked back.
"Are you Luke?"
"Yeah, why? Calum go away!" He said the last part to another person on the other end.
"Do you know Ashton Irwin? He lent me his coat today and I found your number in his pocket and I was hoping you'd be able to help me give it back to him." I rambled, afraid my point wasn't getting across.
"I'm actually at his house right now.." Luke trailed off. "Calum, I swear if you touch me one more-"
"Could you give me the address please?" I asked, cutting him off.
I pulled out a pad of paper and wrote down Ashton's address just as Luke had told me. I thanked Luke and hung up. I was going to give this dumb coat" back to the dumb, cute boy who gave it to me in the first place.
